Will not start

Re: Will not start

This is important because if the ECM sees more 2.5 volts it goes into flood mode and won't fire the injs. I suggest you check that just to rule it out if nothing else.

Tested the tps using the gray and blue spots and the meter showed about 6 to start and when I moved the arm down the meter showed it down to about 1. which after searching sounds about right.

Still not showing any codes, Tach doesn't jump too much and have egr deleted.

Re: Will not start

finally got to use the injector harness tester and was not lighting up.

The temp sensor is new this spring. not getting any codes on regular scan going to try to figure out how to scan data just got that.

Did you check for 12v on the injector harness? The ECM grounds the injectors. If the ECM isn't working properly, you'll get no injector pulse. As Mike says, have you swapped out the ECM yet?

Re: Will not start

RPM has a couple ECUs for sale right now, check out their for sale thread.

Did you mean the ecm ? Not sure how the computer would be the problem as it runs fine with ether. If I did switch the ecm wouldn't that mess up the tune that I have in my current unit and the truck not be set up the same anymore?

It could be the ECM if the ECM is the reason the injs are not firing. If you switch ECMs just switch the chip carrier and you won't loose your tune.

Eric's chip, I forget, you will loose your settings when power is removed so go through and note them so you repeat them when power is back on.

Honestly I have no idea about switching chips and tuning. Computers are the one part that I struggle with. Its running code 59 done by autoaddictions. Most anything else in the vehicle I can handle not sure about the computer.

Re: Will not start

Do you have a check engine light on when you turn the key? Have you had your computer out or harness on computer disconnected lately? If you have no check engine light and you had the harness un plugged you may have the ecm connectors in the wrong ports when it was re installed, the connectors should slide in very easy. If your noid tester does not light up while cranking it is not getting the siginal to fire your injectors, this is your problem you just need to find out why no injector pulse.

Re: Will not start

Can't seem to connect to the computer to scan anything and my regular obd scanner is not showing any codes. I haven't touched the computer at all other than trying to scan. I don't have another to swap. I have tried to connect to the ecm with turnerpro but it will not recognize anything is connected. As I am new to the computer end I'm not sure of connecting.

Re: Will not start

Tested and have power to injectors not sure about ecm can I just swap a stock one in without switching anything with tune to just test? Anyone have a stock ecm for sale?

Yes you can AFAIK. Just swap the chip into the new one. I thought I saw some here for sale recently.

Power to the injs can mean different things. One wire is hot all the time (key on) the other two provide ground to actually fire the injs. So unless you have the test gizmo you probably can't tell. So 12v on the one wire is only half the story. Assuming that's what you're talking about.
