Will not start

Re: Will not start

attach a fuel pressure gauge to the test port and check fuel pressure with pump priming.. i've had the fuel line on the walbro inside the tank split before so the pump was pumping like it should but due to the split in the hose there wasn't much pressure

Re: Will not start

Mine is doing the same thing now, I'm leaning towards fuel pump going out. Hurry up and figure it out!!
Its driving me nuts I'm trying :rotf:

Is there a decent fairly inexpensive tester? would a extra gauge work? really hoping its not the pump. I assume it needs, I think I read 45 psi on start. Is that maintained while driving? It ran fine once it started just won't get there.

Re: Will not start

picked up the pressure and injector tester at harbor freight love the 20% coupons. See what they show. What cranking pressure should I look for?

Re: Will not start

got the gauge and pressure went right up so another possibility eliminated. Went to the ether again and it fired right up so I drove around a bit ran great no problems or hesitation. Parked it waited a couple of minutes tried to restart a few tried nothing and then pumped gas a bit it stumbled started. Third attempt like 20 min later no go.

Re: Will not start

Did it go up when you just turned the key to the on position when the fuel pump primes? Have you tried cranking it for awhile? Mine takes a few seconds before it finally starts. But mine also hesitates when you press the gas, it goes super lean.

as soon as I turned the key yes

Re: Will not start

been searching more would the oil pressure switch be something to consider? How would I test if that is the problem. I'm beyond stumped with this one.

I just tried to give you a call a little bit ago. I wanted to see how things were going.. I guess I just found out.

Oil pressure? Have Any on cranking

What did you find out about fuel filter? Have you removed it?

How long has the truck been sitting with fuel inside the system?

Re: Will not start

have you tried spraying some either in into the air filter while cranking to see if it fires off ??

hey sorry been crazy busy with work the past few days. oil pressure has always been fine course right now suffering from the spun gauge and haven't gotten time to do that or investigate things further was just reading how the oil pressure switch can be a problem. Fuel is fresh don't drive much but had just filled up not too long ago. Still haven't tracked down the problem

Re: Will not start

If it started and ran on ether, it sounds like the fuel pump did not kick in until there was enough oil pressure to kick in the oil pressure sensor/fuel pump power circuit.

Why would this happen? Mine is doing this. I have a leak somewhere in the fuel system. If I get it to start, shut it off and start it before it leaks down, it will fire right up. It's never ending with this thing.

Re: Will not start

did filter and rechecked the pressure goes to 45 psi to prime and almost 50 psi (mostly 47psi) on cranking. Reset spun oil gauge but that just keeps flipping so that is something else.
