Okey, at most i'd say the turbo has 250 to 300 miles on it at best ( year and a half old) and I haven't ran the truck hard at all yet.. soo I've been having some problems suddenly with making little to no boost which is weird so I yanked the cobra elbow off and the impeller looked mint as it should. Spun fine with no in/out or side to side play so decided to pull the other coupler off for the hell of it which is the outlet of the turbo that runs to the air to air ic. Found that it had some oil puddled up in it. Not much but never seen this before and never had a turbo go out on me before so im wondering if this means the turbo's shot. If so any idea what went on it? and any reason why?

Also noticed earlier today when I yanked the wastegate actucator off to check to ensure the diaphram was good that it had some oil residue on it which is struck me as weird. Especially since this truck has never leaked anything and the turbo area has always been clean.

I have seen a ton of turbo's on diesel engines and a few on gas pass some oil on the charge side i don't think it means the turbo is shot, if that was the case every turbo on the 6.0 ford would need to be replaced as they all pass oil, i always like to check the

other side of the intercooler for oil if you see some there you may have a problem, also check that your drain has no restrictions as this can cause it to pressure up and pass oil

is your pvc system working right?

yes, never had any oil build up ever through it and I replaced both pcv valves with new correct ones about three months ago just because they were a few years old.

when a turbo seal goes bad it usually leaks into the downpipe. The oil in the compressor discharge is usually from the PCV. Your no boost problem is more then likely a leak in your charge piping/intercooler core. If the turbo spins freely and has all the wheels still there it WILL make boost.

My setup is very simple and easy. I set it up to be very short to prevent any lag while also limiting the amount of couplers used. I have a total of five couplers used (turbo outlet to 90, 90 to ic inlet, ic outlet to 90, 90 to up pipe, up pipe to tb) and a total of three pipes. All the couplers are multi layer silicone with tbolt clamps. No cheap crap that cracks etc. I've gone over all these points and removed and reinstalled them all as well as sprayed carb cleaner all over the lower intake looking for a vac leak but no dice. Only possible leak I would have to assume at this point would be the stock throttle body but I don't think it's capable of leaking to the point that it'll bleed of 18lbs of boost.

Non of these pips along with the ic have oil in them. The pcv setup is newer and of stock configuration. I've never had any oil issues with the pcv system in the past so when I found the oil in the outlet of the turbo. I assumed the worst that the turbo had something going on with it.

I plan on yanking the downpipe soon when I can to verify that the wastegate puck is in tack and that the turbine wheel is okey and will update this thread accordingly.

sounds like maybe the wg is frozen open.. apply air to the top of the wg actuator and watch it open/close first.
