Being serious, does anybody have a typhoon for sale, that is willing to take payments?

Look, I don't know why you're not listening, but you're getting some truly sage advice here. On top of that, you're getting it from guys who know what the hell they're talking about.

You seriously need to walk away from this truck. It's a $7500 truck, at the most IMHO. You're going to get in way over your head, and honestly you're not the first and certainly won't be the last to make that mistake.

I get that you're young and really want a Ty, but take a step back and think for a minute. Why on God's green Earth would someone say it's cool if you make payments on a vehicle, and then hand you the title, and the vehicle before it's paid in full? No one is that trusting or dumb. Especially if they are flipping said car. Your getting screwed over here, and I think it's just the beginning.

As everyone else has said, save the cash and just wait. You said March of 2013 and you can buy one out right...so why not just wait the 7 months?

Look, either you're being a semi-successful troll, or you're truly naive to how the world works outside of Montana...fact of the matter is, these guys are trying to save you some serious heartache/headache.

Re: Buying my first Typhoon :)

Not trying to be a troll, just trying to see why it is a problem, I mean, I register it in my name. No ties to him, I understand the price is higher than you guys like, but other than that, is there REALLY A reason not to buy? If you didn't know the price, what would you say to buying it?

Re: Buying my first Typhoon :)

There is the very real possibility that this guy is going to F**K you out of your money. I don't care how trusting someone seems...the current owner of this truck is looking to make money off it.

Here are my issues:
1) You don't get the title to a car (new car) until you pay it off. So why is this guy willing to let you take the truck (out of state mind you) and the title without full payment. There's no way around it, he's working an angle.
2) you're clearly eager to buy it, and he knows it. Look I don't know you, and just from what you've posted I know it's going to take a lot to get you to walk away from this one.
3) This truck is modified...a lot...and the current owner doesn't know the history of it. These truck are notoriously finicky to keep running. This truck could have serious issues that won't show up on a carfax report, that he know's nothing about. Or worse, he knows exactly what these problems are, and how big a PITA they are to resolve and is looking to dump this truck on some unsuspecting kid with stars in his eyes...no offense.
4) You're not familiar with working on these trucks. Make no mistake, these are not normal S-series trucks. I made this mistake early on as well. I figured working on a Ty would be just like my 91 Blazer...yeah some stuff is close, but SyTy's have a whole host of gremlins that will make you seriously hate life. Again, without knowing more about the truck, or buying from someone who does, you're simply asking for a royal sh!tstorm.

Well said........also, have you seen or driven this Ty yet?

Re: Buying my first Typhoon :)

No, I have not. I will be in Denver Friday to look at and test drive, obviously nothing is final until then. I would love having somebody come look at it before I do anything.

Re: Buying my first Typhoon :)

My friend Ned Stark used to always tell me when I wanted to buy a toy in the late summer, or early fall, "Winter is coming." Save up and buy one in the spring, then enjoy it all spring, summer, and fall of next year. You gain nothing buying this now, other than a headache, and a used up garage space over the winter for no reason. You can find a better deal. To say you are getting ripped off is an understatement.

Someone in Denver please go with this lad. If nothing else, to prove this situation is real.

Some people just have to learn the hardway....

Exactly. Could anybody tell you anything at 18? Live and learn. His money, his deal. When he's 30, maybe he'll  But who hasn't. That's life.

Re: Buying my first Typhoon :)

I encourage you to go buy it. Personally I think you and the Ty will be a good match but one BIG favor first.........If you are a bounty hunter for your Daddy, how about snapping a picture of your official badge and posting it for us doubting peeps. I think you are a bag of hot air

Maybe you are the current owner of the Ty who started this thread hoping it would influence someone else to "jump" on buying the truck quick. I see it is still listed on ebay and I see the majority of legal residents in the USA feel it is not even worth $6000 yet.

If you are legit and do end up jumping into this trap, enjoy the journey, Bozo but don't repaint the Ty. The current paint job fits you to the tee (adding a lil pink to it would be ok) ;)
