Re: Buying my first Typhoon :)

It is an individual, 24 months. I am going to call my bank today to see if they will loan on another vehicle.

Re: Buying my first Typhoon :)

Yep. I would love to find somebody else willing to take payments, but they are hard to come by, especially when you will be taking the vehicle out of state. Just called the bank, they can't do anything being that I have a current loan on my duramax.

That shit better be immaculate and you better LOVE that damn paintjob for that amount of $.

Re: Buying my first Typhoon :)

I can afford the truck, just don't have all the cash available right now being that I just bought my dad a truck. If somebody else is willing to make payments, my agreement right now is $455/month with $1500 down. Also, he is letting me take the title.

Why would he give you the title if you're not the owner of the truck? That doesn't make any sense.

This whole 'deal' has bad news written all over it...

His view is, I sign contract saying I will pay the payments, then I take the title and typhoon back to Montana with me.

Then he says you missed a payment and repos the truck and keeps your down payment and all payments to date. I own a used car dealership here in Denver and would never give the title to the buyer when there is a lien on it, just a FYI.

T-Bone is gonna be pissed.....

Not at all. Hate to see someone antzy enough to pad this guys pocket BUT it is business......just not MY business. I would not pay a dime over $8250 for this Ty.....and I am being generous with that! I am in the buying mood and seriously considering getting a 2008 Murgello Deep Blue RS4 and much prefer it over yet another Ty.

Just save up $450 a month for the next 2 years and buy one for cash money.

And besides, that truck just screams "Ricer bought a Ty for too much $"

IMO the only thing you should ever buy on payments is a house. It will prolly be worth what you paid for it when it is paid off.

If you can't pay cash (except for a house) then you can't afford it.

Belee dat.

The title doesn't have a lien on it. It is clean and clear, he will not be associated with the title. Only thing binding me with him is the agreement I sign.

Not making a judgement here...but can I ask how old you are?

Re: Buying my first Typhoon :)

I am 18. I have been working at getting a Typhoon for years, and everytime something comes up. Last time, I had to buy my father a truck. Time before that, my car broke down and I had to buy a daily driver. I know what you guys are picturing, but I am a responsible person, and the only reason I am even considering this Typhoon is because of the fact that he will be willing to take payments on it. I would love to buy a different Typhoon, but that would mean waiting until the beginning of next year. I figure I can buy this one now, let it sit in the garage, and buy another come March 2013.

Listen up young buck, you don't start at the top,you gotta work your way up.

There is no way in hell that this is a good deal for you.

I understand that you want it,but you can't have it yet.

What you gotta figure out is,can you handle the worst case scenario?

Motor blows up,what you gonna do,finance a motor?

Tranny blows up,same thing.

Crackheads carjack you? What up?

Calm down,save up,be prepared.

I know how exciting it can be to find a truck that will work with your finances at the moment, but as has been said on here prior to this, wait...Hold out.

That truck is overpriced. Highly overpriced dude. Do some research on here about that truck. There's been plenty of times this truck has been up for sale and for much lower amounts.

For what you are about to pay for that truck you can get a MUCH nicer STOCK truck that is going to hold it's value MUCH more than this checkers-mobile.

Calm down...Wait...get your shit together and get a truck that's worth it.

Are you REALLY willing to overpay about $7k for that Typhoon JUST to have a Typhoon RIGHT NOW? If you are, screw it. It's your money. Do what you want. But the end result isn't going to look to that great.

You are getting advice from guys on here who have owned these trucks longer than you have been on this earth. DAMN GOOD advice.

Re: Buying my first Typhoon :)

I can afford it, that isn't the problem. It is the problem of having all the money available. I just bought my dad a $30,000 truck for cash, affordability isn't an issue, its the fact that I just spent $30,000 that is holding me back from buying one outright. Also, motor blows up, or transmission goes, that is a lot cheaper than buying the typhoon. Crackheads carjack me, $250 deductible pays for my Typhoon.

Okay. Don't listen to peoples advice. Do whatever you want. It's your money.
