    Noob questions...

I am pretty new to ECU tuning. I just finished fixing everything I can think of mechanically on the engine, so I believe I am ready to tune the puter. I searched, and could not find good answers for this stuff... My questions... What is the advantages/disadvantages of going to a dyno tuner...

Re: My Ty-clone build thread... Today I changed out the fan, distributor, cap, rotor, wires, coil. The old distributor was very rusty and had stripped threads for the cap on one side. I got a bigger MSD coil and Taylor wires and a 3000cfm fan. I wired the fan to a switch on my dash so I can...

I wasn't paying attention, but I think it was a Trailblazer SS clone that was bagged with TVs and airbrushed and crap (a real show car). And a lifted 4x4 blazer that was just clean as hell.

I put in some new rear shocks yesterday (bilstien HD's). Today I entered it in a car show an won 3rd place for SUV class, even though I didn't even wash or vacuum it lol...

Correct. GW tire is by far the cheapest tire place around. It was also the only place that I didn't have to schedule a alignment and wait all day to get her back. They were also the only ones who would set my camber to -1degrees. Great shop. The only complaint I have is that I have to request...

    My Ty-clone build thread...

So today I removed the 1" lowering blocks so the car no longer looks like it's doing a wheelie. Here it is waiting to get the front end aligned...

Thanks bones. I guess I did just need weight on wheels. It sure was a pain. One of the holes was not threaded correctly so I had to re tap it. That took me about 2 hours. I have never had so many problems with such a simple piece.

Re: My Ty-clone build thread... Today I got the sway bar installed (pain in my ass!). And I adjusted the torsion bars all the way down. I may have to get new keys to get the height that I want. How can I adjust the camber past factory limitations? It seems that I will have a positive camber...

What did you do to your SY/TY today?

    My Ty-clone build thread...

Yesterday and today I installed the PS pump, hoses and F41 steering box. And all of the front suspension including new Bilstein shocks. The only thing I wasn't able to install was the sway bar. It does not seem to fit correctly. So I may have to drill some new holes in the lower a-arms. I also...

    My Ty-clone build thread...

Re: My Ty-clone build thread... I did a little bit of painting because there was a break in the rain. I also got my damned Jeep steering shaft to separate (finally)! I actually took others advice for once and painted my frame black. In chrono order... Prepped... First coat... Final...

    My Ty-clone build thread...

Re: My Ty-clone build thread... I'm a little ticked off today because the brand new Jeep steering shaft that I ordered came in today the telescoping shaft was completely seized. After and hour or so of trying every trick in the book. Including trying to break it free with a hydraulic press. I...

New member who has lurked for awhile and has some Sy/Ty questions.

Re: New member who has lurked for awhile and has some Sy/Ty questions. I have a Ty engine and drivetrain running a NV3500 (5 speed) that bolts right up to the 4.3 and the AWD transfer case. I have never had any problems it never slips. I don't think a t56 will work with the TC. Personally I...

    My Ty-clone build thread...

Re: My Ty-clone build thread... Todays update. I did a lot more steel prushing of mostly grease grime mixed with dirt (from blown cv and joint seals). I ended up having to pull the PS pump because the hoses were stripped and old. Pulled the steering box and lower steering shaft. And I finally...

Re: My Ty-clone build thread... ^ Thanks all of you. Today I did a wire wheeling of the frame and other stuff... I still have more to go before painting. I also painted the calipers red, bought new rotors and pads. It looks like I am going to have to take out the PS pump also because the...
