PAS inspection sheets....

As promised, here are the PAS delivery inspection sheets. These are from the inspection that was done as the truck was leaving PAS and getting ready to be delivered to a dealer near you. I scanned the sheet at 1200 DPI and then reduced them to around 600 for posting here, bandwidth and all. These are from Syclone #2916 and compliments of warmpancakes. Its about time he did something useful for the community. ;) Maybe we can throw these in the archive, they seems kinda worth keeping..... just a thought.

Enjoy......

Re: PAS inspection sheets....

So, newbie question. Is this documentation out there somewhere for my Typhoon? Is this the stuff someone's keeping a lid on for some reason?

There is a file for every truck that came out of PAS......Sy, Ty and SoGT. Availability is a who different story that I'm not going to start telling.

Re: PAS inspection sheets....

From my understanding the VIN number doesn't mean the order the rolled out of PAS....

I don't see mis-aligned front bumper on the check list.

Re: PAS inspection sheets....

glas could have been installed in the plant, PAS had a assy plant in shrieveport were they finished assy of the trucks decoding the VIN at a dealer used to show these trucks sold as incomplete chassis thats why the government says PAS was the manuf of the trucks not GMC

Re: PAS inspection sheets....

One more thing:

Thanks to you and Tony for putting these sheets up. I've never seen them. For me, they raise more questions than they answer, but still cool seeing old history. DaveP.

No problem I find it funny the care taken in the inspection, notice the "quick line" and not the seperate check marks, dig (i think) has the assy binder pas used to put the trucks together kinda like a instruction sheet of where to put stuff, I do know they drilled the holes for the cladding after the trucks left the plant

also notice on page 5 "ign cuts off hard take off" guess they didnt put gas in the truck

Re: PAS inspection sheets....

I spent 30 minutes with a magnifying glass, and I COULD NOT find the entry for "special gold tint Syclone-only rear window" that Ken insisted was done after a member posted irrefutable evidence that the rear glass in his 2 Shreveport-produced trucks, built 7 weeks apart, one pick-up and one Syclone, WERE THE SAME GLASS, and NOT gold.

So where is the instruction (or the inspection for) the Gold glass, ken? I don't see it. Particularly the inspection entry for it. Everything else right down to the anti-tamper sticker is thought of. But not the rear glass. Because PAS never touched it, is my position. And proved by the documentation that yopu maintained last summer showed the rear glass replacement. It doesn't seem to.

It doesnt say install door panel inserts either, Just "syclone unique parts" but it lists the seats seperate and we all know those are specific, until we get a employee or some paperwork its all hearsay

All vehicles sent to upfitters during this era have VIN's that decode to incomplete chassis, its not any differant then conversion vans

That's only because they changed the motor from what originally came in the chassis
Conversion van companies also crash test vehicles, its how they get their FMVSS cert

Re: PAS inspection sheets....

There's a member at s-series.org from Shreveport that says his father was a supervisor at PAS right here in Shreveport.

I thought the lack of check marks was interesting too, Ken... certainly not like today's life on the assembly line.
