BG does have some benefits with the Corvette Factory/Museum (its easy to explain than driving to than KC).

this would motivate my dad to bring his vette!

i think bowling green would be an awesome place to go!

i think its time for an 06' Nats Poll on location!

I have a couple of questions for you. I want honest answers, and no I’m not being a smart ars.

Do you really live in Concord, CA?

Would you really attend the Nats if they were held in BG,Ky?

If so...What is so different about BG that would make you want to attend there instead of KC?

yes, i have been here for 22 years. i would have attended the nats this year, but i was selling my black ty and didn't want to put any miles on it. and i couldn't get time off of work due to the vacation i'm taking in july.

yeah, i've always wanted to go to the corvette museum. my father probably would love to come too as he own a 01' vette, and maybe my brother who has an 02' WS6

corvette museum, my family is big on vettes. but like i said i would attend nats anywhere with my new truck. i'm just getting established in my new career, BMW auto/smog tech, and waiting as the years go by for more benefits and payed vacations.

i hope this clears up any confusion you guys might have of me.

Re: is nats always at the same place?

There are umpteenth Corvette events in Bowling Green every year. Feel free to attend any one of their gatherings.
Unfortunately for us there are a couple miillion more 'vettes than SyTys so they have a numeric advantage right off the bat.

Vette gatherings also typically cost $100 for admission, guys that own them don't have a problem paying that.

Anything SyTy is a money pit. trucks, events, vendors. All of them are not good financial investments.

Rest assured the entire planning committee is working out the numbers to find a place that is equally economical to KC.

i'm not trying to be irrational. we go to vette gathering over here all the time. i appreciate all that you guys do to head up events such as these.

either way it would be 1800+ mi. to KC and 2300+mi. to BG a difference of 4-5 hours. well over 30 hours of travel. were ever it is next year, i'm going to make it.

The evening racing is probably not option, but needs to be 8-4.

syty only from 8-4 sounds fine, as long as we can rip it up agianst who ever shows up for the test-n-tune or what ever is going on that night...

people can be mature about a poll. i believe it would just spark up interest in the community. but hey what do i know?

Yes, people CAN be mature about a poll they just usually aren't. Have you been around here when there was a poll?

Shucks, if only 38 show up WITH THEIR TRUCKS, it doubles this years attendance!!

There were 48 trucks this year so even if 38 more show up it will not double this years attendance.

Even with above I personally would like to try it at BG atleast one year. But I also respect the committee doing the work, planning, etc and will agree with their decision however it is. Too easy for someone not doing work to suggest, complain, etc.

I have also said if it moves, with Jeremy we will take care of the racing portion of the organization if they should choose. Being in my backyard makes that easier for me.

I second this thought. The people who put on the Nats this year was great. Better than some professional race events I have been to. So there wishes out weigh many people, but I just think BG can be a better host track and city. More trucks, More People, More Sponsors, More things to do, Auto- Crossing, etc. But without the support of the current SyTY Nats commitee people it is not worth moving.

I may even bring mine if it were in BG. It seems that east would be a good idea because it becomes more central for those that attend. I know West don't attend because of the miles... How many would attend it it were more west? Would we pick up more from southeast or more from the west if it were moved in their directon? Ultimately I think maybe a poll for "HOW FAR WOULD YOU DRIVE" to attend NATS may be helpful.

Either way I'll be there with at least one SoGT!

Re: is nats always at the same place?

I'm down for whatever.

BG, GB, KC, FL, NJ...

Living in the midwest - I'll never get the furthest driven and Morgan is also doing a fine job with the broken truck awards. I guess I'll just keep driving it and hope I get the highest mileage.

Re: is nats always at the same place?

I dont think Ill be winning anything next year, since my truck will probably be flatlined after this summer.

TYRODD

My ass. Look at it.
Re: is nats always at the same place?

Being from the west, KC or BG are both quite a drive..BG being about 5 hours further. I have made an agreement w/another board member that if they drive their truck to KC (if its there) next year...I will cruise out 1200 miles again...If not I will fly :) . Therefore KC, BG, FL, etc. doesnt matter to me at all :D .

Honestly, the only thing that would have made 05 better would be more trucks attending. However, I found that driving that far, and having to check/worry about my truck really cut down the amount of time I had to check out the other trucks/hang out with the peeps/rest, so in my situation, more trucks wouldnt have mattered (beyond the cool factor  ).

So if I fly, I will get to do more "Nats" stuff, which IMO, is actually a little less about the trucks and more about YOU people out there  .

Thats my situation...(you all still awake? ;) )
