I am.....I start my new job with the USPS July 11th. On a topic centered note, the decision for BG NATS in 2006 has to come from the "ruling body", whoever that is. It appears the majority rules, but if I receive official notification from the Doughtery's that it will be there and subsequent authority to spearhead the planning, I'll begin the legwork
and maybe some of the Floridians will show up since it will be 508 miles closer to them. Shucks, if only 38 show up WITH THEIR TRUCKS, it doubles this years attendance!! Too many are in opposition to it moving so for now, I am in hover mode.

Just a few thoughts.
Bowling Green is a lot closer for the southern and south eastern guys. There was no one from GAST AND FAST at the NATS. Also no one from the carolina's. All of these area's have lots of trucks. Furthermore BG has an amusment park at the same place as the track. Makes it more family friendly. BG is cheaper to rent and has more room , so an autocross can be set up.
The Corvette musem is located in Bowling Green and the only Corvette plant is there. So an tour of the plant& musem could be set up for say a friday of the nats.Plus Holley is located there to, with a possibilty of a tour.
There is a reason that the GN nationals, Corvette Nats, Viper Nats, F-body nats, Hot Rod Renion and several other annual events are held there. Keep your eye open on the board I know there will be a discussion about location of the nats 06 soon. Several of the organizers have been exploring the Idea of a BG nats in 06.
JSM rented BG in the spring for an invitaion only event of 10 trucks and we must of had 40-50 people show up to spectate from the SY-TY community.
I will also commit myself to help out if it is held in Bowling Green.

That has been investigated and is so far a false statement.
Unless Beechbend is more willing to negotiate they are substantially more $$$ than KCIR for our traditional night time racing.
To the tune of 3 times more...
It was cheap for Jeff b/c there were only 10 trucks allowed on the track.

Don't fret the gears are churning, but it has to be feasible.

Let me say this.
I lived on west coast. in 99 I won the furthest driven syty at 2500 miles each way.
KC is a long ways for the west coast guys. It sucks, hence why you don't see many if any show up.
Unfortunely the layout of the US sucks to find a central place.
Most of the population in US or at least syty people is either west or east. I would say the East, southeast being 70% (within 1 days drive of an ocean).
Bowling green would be a nice central location for the east, midwest IMO but leave the west coast out (except for the big die hards).
The fact is, in the past 3 years I have seen more east coast guys like Morgan driving the 1200 miles to the event, and less and less west coast. This year zero west coast.
So I ask myself why do we hold it at KC for west coast if they don't show up anyways?
On flip side I can convince myself if you move to BG west coast def. won't show up.
When I rented the track earlier this year at BG, I could have 10 trucks on the track. Cost was $650 or $65 per vehicle.
It was a blast. Although I didn't fill it up with 10 syty's I didn't have trouble filling up the 10 spots and everybody that went had a great time from what they told me, and keep asking me if we are going to do another at the end of the year.
The plus for Bowling green are facility (autocross shouldn't be a problem, amusement park next door, corvette attractions, overall the town is setup for car events)
Downside is a change, and location makes the west worse. The evening racing is probably not option, but needs to be 8-4.
Even with above I personally would like to try it at BG atleast one year. But I also respect the committee doing the work, planning, etc and will agree with their decision however it is. Too easy for someone not doing work to suggest, complain, etc.
I have also said if it moves, with Jeremy we will take care of the racing portion of the organization if they should choose. Being in my backyard makes that easier for me.

dgoodhue...Well said. A poll could cause a major fight! All i can say is that suggestions are very helpful in the planning of the Nats. I dont think people realize that there is alot of work and time involved in planning an event like this. As you said...it has to work logistically.

No matter where the nat's are i will be there with my truck:tup: . IMO it seems like if you move it closer to the east coast the west coast will just wine about driving the high miles. It seems like the east coast people like Morgan are the ones willing to drive the miles to support the event. so why move it west if that puts people like Morgan who have made the 14xx mile drive the last few years at a further disadvantage? i think KC was a great place to have nat's and in genreal was a central location so why move it? but i also think a change of scenery would be cool too:tup: If i had to vote anywhere else, id say lets go east

Personally, I will probably be making my first trek to the Nationals next year, it really doesn't matter if its KC or BG. I think BG is 20 hours, KC 24 hours. BG does have some benefits with the Corvette Factory/Museum (its easy to explain than driving to than KC). I really don't want to drive any further west.
