Re: Annual Miami Wrench Session

Hey Guys, I just wanted to thank everyone. I have been a SY owner for a little over a week and felt at home.

Gary, the garage is GREAT. Thank you for the hospitality.

Adam, did the leak stop?

Cannot wait till next year!!!

Re: Annual Miami Wrench Session

I think it did stop leaking..Thanks for having us and it was good times...We found a stragler on the side of the interstate on the way home(he ran out of gas) so we hung till he got some fuel and he followed our little convoy back...Im surprised the new typhoon made it all the way running perfect with no issues...

Miami has the biggest burgers around:tup:

Anyway nice meeting you all..

Here's Keith with a bunch of other trucks and the GN from the meet all stopped to help out. The goofy "Gas-O-Haul" boxes were the only portable gas containers available on the Indian Reservation along Alligator Alley.

A big thanks to Gary for hosting us, and to all who participated and made it a great weekend - thanks !

Re: Annual Miami Wrench Session

Here we are "helping" our SyTy friend who had trouble reading his petrol gauge.......by laughing and taking pictures :D.

This is Tommynos coming up on me like a locomotive. He had his electric cutouts open and it literally shook my Ty when he came by. His turbo is bigger than his burger he ate the night before which is saying ALOT.

What do you think of this garage? You can also see a golden tail.

I am horrible with names but this guy gets the long distance award. He built this from a shell and a doner and you would never know. It was beautiful. He came all the way from Cali and stopped along the way to do some NCRS judging. Very cool guy(sorry I forget your name but that's due to my earlier in life recreational activities :rotf:)

It was a great turnout. I think about 12 SyTy's and a lone GN. There would have been 1 more SyTy but it had axle trouble and they drove a TBSS instead. The trailblazer also did a nice burnout down the street along with a crazy guy on 4 wheeler.

It was a great time and Gary is an AWESOME host. See you guys again soon.

Re: Annual Miami Wrench Session

Just got home...

Yes, the leak is fixed, after the SECOND time doing it. Thanks for everyone who helped in that fiasco.

Yes, the dude from mythbusters did show up. Not sure if anyone got pics? When I was doing my axle seal for the SECOND time, he showed me how to check the viscousity of the fluid.

As always, thanks to Gary for hosting.

Charly was out of control. To much beer and he was eating sticks, rocks and mulch. Crazy stuff.

Post more later, I gotta get some work done

Re: Annual Miami Wrench Session

The Long Distance Driver from Cali with the Red/Grey is Dave. He traveled so far that he had to do another oil change just for the trip back! I've never met anyone who knows more about Corvette's.

The Red/Red on Gary's 1st lift (yea, he's got 2) was Doug's before he left us..now up for sale - I can't believe it hasn't sold already.

Synster on the right is Adam's truck, which was perched that way for a good part of the meet. With persistence - he, Tyson and Morgan did finally get the leaking seal repaired. Congrats, Adam - prolly couldn't have had a better B'day gift than to have the Sy streetable and race-ready again. :bdayhat:

Thanks Gary, had a great time and the ribs were awesome too. Nice to see you guys again and meet some new ones also. Now I can put a face on some of the guys posting. Hope to see you guys next year or sooner if possible, and alligator alley is the last place I would want to run out of gas.

Re: Annual Miami Wrench Session

Thanks again gary for having everyone over and the shop looks awesome, now i'm itching to get a lift... Also thanks for everyone that stopped and waited with me for some petrol to arrive. Special thanks to rob and Mona for stopping and picking up the gas and cans to get me moving again.. It might be about time for me to remember how to tune and burn a MPG chip for long treks across the alley.

Re: Annual Miami Wrench Session

Things learned in Miami this weekend:

- Ultra Copper RTV...it can and does go bad
- Typhoons can be driven from Cali to FL with ZERO PROBLEMS.
- Adam Savage is good at giving car diagnosis
- Leon says hes not gonna do hennessy again, but ends up with half a bottle gone anyhow.
- Changing an axle seal the 1st time takes about 3-4 hours.
- Changing an axle seal the 2nd time only takes an hour cause this time you know what your doing.
- ATV can leave some serious burnout marks. Glen is a pro.
- Betty's Burgers has some big F'n burgers
- FAIL - Bettey's Burgers 1 King trying to swipe a Betty's Burgers tray 0
- Bring your TBSS to a junkyard, leave with your TBSS having a broken window, slashed dash and missing GPS.
- Gary got the plumbing fixed.
- Gary has another problem with the plumbing in the guest bath.

Unbelievable. And I suppose no one saw anything in the parking area. I hate thieves.
