Re: Typhoon warning

make sure dennis fixes the trailer before putting your truck on it, last i heard it was in really bad shape with pieces flying off of it on the highway.

good luck and try not to step on dennis, he is kind of small.

lol, even if the trailer is in good shape..there will be parts flying off when krusty is on there :rotf:

congratz on getting your truck to the states!

Re: Typhoon warning

Anyone around on Saturday between Linden, NJ and Trenton, NJ for lunch after Dennis and I collect my truck? Nowhere decided yet so just wondering if NJTy or BigSmoosh or some other guys might make it for a little bite to eat? Be good to see some new faces!

Re: Typhoon warning

Update!

Spent the evening drilling and screwing all of the deck planking directly to the trailer frame - nothing is going to fall off now.

Called my brother this morning at his tool and die shop in South Plainfield to see if he had any scrap sheet steel to fix the trailer - he did!! I'll be picking that up on my lunch break today.
So trailer will be ready by Friday night.

Re: Typhoon warning

Update!!!

The repair sheet steel sections are in my wife's Saturn Vue ready to take home.

Two sections 21"x30" 3/8" thick - HEAVY. Waaaaay overkill for what I need but I aint arguing for free.

Now I just gotta figger out how I'm gonna fasten them to the trailer............
There is the dovetail bend in the deck to deal with..........
I have a big ass sledgehammer and a cutoff wheel...................should be fun tonight..............

not stock
Re: Typhoon warning

you're gonna have to notch the hell outta 3/8's to bend it. i'll take any other scraps he's giving away.

Re: Typhoon warning

Haha - family discount Renzy.

They were material originally for making the bases for MAC cash machines.

I'm gonna haveta use the cutoff wheel to make a groove where I want it to bend - then wail the crap outa it with the sledgehammer - the neighbors are gonna love me tonight!!!

Rig is parked at the curb right out in front of my house.

Re: Typhoon warning

Update!!!

Deck planking is successfully secured to trailer frame - was easier than I thought it would be.

Just a few more screws to do tomorrow after work and I'm ready - need to mess with the passenger side trailer lights, too.

But as of right now - trailer is usable again.

We are good to go for Saturday morning at this point.

Mark - you better have all your paperwork in line for when we get to the docks. I don't wanna get turned away due to some BS paperwork issue.
