Re: Typhoon warning
Well, I found that noone wanted to give me a decent price for insurance so I started looking internationally.
I got an expat price for half the cost but it doesn't have 3rd party liability so I called around. My lack of a US licence also didn't help.
I called GEICO and ended up speaking to their supervisor who was asking about all the mods - turbo, trans, steering etc and I finally got a 6 month quote for the 15/30k minimum at 99 per month.
I haven't got my collision/theft coverage yet but that is also $99 per month. Any way I slice it, looks like I'm paying through the ass. Still, I have got cover for now so I am legal.
I won't be driving it that much and it's in a secure car park. Plus I'll be disabling it when not driving it. You can't get a tow truck in there so I should be ok for the time being.
