I strongly agree with SYO237, this is a conditional gift from Elvisinturn1, and it can be revoked. I also think that these sites should be kept a SyTy secret, since the general public is not supposed to know that they even exist. Alright, so everyone knows where we are at, here is a quick update:
My administrative assistant is helping me with this. She is going to compile the following information on both the Typhoon and Syclone trucks:
A. Acutal Production count of the entire platform (i.e. # of each Typhoon and Syclone total)
B. Actual Production count of each platform by year.
C. Acutal Production count of each plaform by color, year.
D. Actual Production count complete ( including crash tested, destroyed, ect.)
E. Actual Production count delivered to consumer (sorted by year, then state)
F. Actual Count being reported by dealer service.
G. List of All VIN numbers, and then state and date of sale.
H. List of all VIN numbers with serial number assigned to VIN, and then date of production for that VIN, and initials of final inspector. Included will be state of last known whereabouts (last time it went to a GM dealer for service..)
I. Number of units with open MSO (any unregistered, listing VIN and serial number)
J. Any VIN numbers with a production error code listed for that VIN.
K. Any VIN numbers known to be "totaled" or "destroyed" in an accident, by engineering, or anything else.
L. Any units known to be out of the country (i.e. not in US, Canada, or Mexico) as reported by U.S. Customs. If any are reported, last known country of port.
So, as you can see, it's alot. We're working on it. Lots of numbers and things to sort thru. I don't need any more VIN numbers. I have more than enough. :lol: As soon as all the data is compiled, we'll put it up. :tup:

Whenever an "oops" happens in production, a VIN is given an "error code" describing what the "oops" is that happened.

Do you mean a digit is altered within the VIN itself to reflect that or rather an error code is associated with the VIN? I think you meant the latter but just wanted to make sure. I bought a Sy that was on the original MSO until Jan 2005. I have a title now in the safe but the truck still doesn't reflect on CARFAX so I will be interested in what your search reveals on the truck. I'm not sure exactly what occurs to initiate a vehicle record within CARFAX but it is certainly not the initial title or registration. Kudo's to you for all your efforts on our behalf.

Hey Everyone....
For now, can we hold off on the personal VIN checks, please? Its not really beneficial to the thread as we are looking for overall information about ALL the trucks.
Elvis has been slammed and has already felt the effect of hungry SyTy enthusiasts dying for long time unknown info. Hes pretty overwhelmed as is with what hes got on the colors and build sheets, that he really cant check everyones truck all at once. The amount of PMs and email hes gotten is up there.
There will soon be a time and place for the personal VIN checks, along with other information for everyone to benefit from.
Trust me on this, patience will pay off.

Nah, it's not something anyone can see but GM. It's just something put in the internal computers if there is an "oops" on that VIN. Nobody can see it. It's kinda like a "memo" they put if something happened.

Now, let me explain this before everyone starts with 1001 questions. This number represents the total number of "sub-platform" vehicles with the Syclone desgination. That does not mean total sold. It means total made period. Out of those 3,009 you have to deduct crash testing, mistakes, ect. So, the actual # delivered WILL be different. As we are "auditing" all this information I will keep posting the totals we are coming up with. Keep in mind, some vehicles got destroyed during development, but 3,009 is the firm number of Syclones with the Syclone platform designation. Also, not all of the 3,0009 may even have a VIN. Some vehicles are made and a VIN is not issued because it's considered a prototype.

For members asking about parts and availability of discontinued parts:
The "Supply Power" site is where you want to go for that once I get the passwords set up. For example, let's say you want a new intake for your truck, but it is discontinued. What you would do, is use the GM TECHLINK site to find out GM's part number for that truck per the parts manual (pdf). Then, look at that number and there will also be another number. This is the supply index number. That is the ORIGINAL SUPPLIERS part number for GM. So let's say for example:
GM Part Number: 123-999-123
Supply Index: 222-0-888
You would take that 222-0-888 and enter that into the SUPPLY POWER search and it would bring up the original manufacturer of that part. Let's say it's Eaton Corp.. So, you call them. All the contact information will be listed in Supply Power for that company. They may still have left over inventory they may be willing to part with. The 222-0-888 is the original equipment manufacturers part number for GM.
*Note: Incase you don't know, General Malfunction does not build parts. They ASSEMBLE cars.

Your truck is over a decade old !
Chances are, especially after the 3000 + people that were layed off, that anyone involved in anything to do with the Syclone/Typhoon either isn't around, or has retired. Very few people involved with these vehicles are still going to be around today. Alot of stuff happens in 10 years. :lol:
