Re: syclone engine build (with pics)

One thing to consider is if you swaped from the larger TB to the stock one this will help your problem. Alot of people runing the large Ford TB have problems with this due to the the fact that the TB is so large opening it 1/64th will move way more air than a stock TB.
Also make sure your Ve map is not pulling out to much fuel with BLM's (if you run closed loop). If you are crusing around and the short terms are pulling say 15% then you accelerate and get into a part of the table that is leaner your AE will not have enough added fuel to compensate for the flat spot.

When I did Tonys truck I was burning chips the old school way and took 54 of them to get it right. Keep pluging away and you will get it sorted out.

Man this really makes me want to get into tuning trucks.

My truck still likes to go a little lean when I get on it from a stop or a roll. It will drop about 2-2.5 AFR's for some reason. Even more so when its hot, it will even go to 4.0 lower. (say from 13.5 up to 17.5.) I dont know what's making it do this. It also likes to surge when I get off the gas crusing around. It will sometimes surge about 3 times and the 4th time it will come back to normal idle (or slightly above while driving.) and sometimes it will just surge until I get on the brakes or back onto the gas.

I would say its due to a vacuum leak somewhere, but I cant find one.

Dude that's amazing that you did find that hole in there. I had my motor put together and have the larger brand new TB also and found that my truck would not start up after a few miles of running it and a short tunning session with a local tunner. He never found out why it would not start. Now I wonder if that could of been my problem all along!
