LOL okay okay...listen i got this truck and lets just say there is a lot of shit on it that is "rigged" the guy did the vortec head swap and Im dead serious ...did not see a dipstick anywhere. Im not that stupid ive been wrenching for years. Just wanted to know where it should be thats all...thanks though for the layout.
oh now you tell us this
damn nboost, i tried to warn the buick and syty communities about this truck...where did you hear about it? the truck has alot of potential, but potential costs alot of money on a turbo six...it looks very nice IMO...but the previous owner is a flake and in the end he dumped the truck because it beat him at his own game...its none of my business what you paid, but i hope it wasnt the asking price...personally, i would start by yanking both the motor and tranny and fix it right (if it was really mine, i'd yank the entire body)...it will also help in replacing the steering box you mentioned...do a zq8 steering box if you can...if you're mechanically inclined, pull the motor and take a look inside...plastigage the rod and main clearances...make sure it doesn't have stock rods in there...i say this considering the vortec conversion and other upgrades that were done...that stuff makes more power and the stock rods and main caps are barely sufficient for a stock truck...and the pistons i saw when the heads were off looked like regular n/a sbc pistons...i would look into that as well...keep in mind that the check engine light isn't working on this truck, so without a real scantool, who knows what the hell is going on...
all of this is water under the bridge now...tear it down and we'll help you put it back together...
if you happen to need a million photos of this, just let me know...
still curious where you heard about the truck...
later,
