Re: Starting My engine build!

Jeremy, what is your build going to consist of in the long run? What turbo etc..

Nothing to exotic. Self ported L35's, custom Comp cams to my specs, Eagle h-beam rods, Speed pro forged pistons, Stock intake and intercooler, and Stock turbo too start off with. I have a 20g with a 57 wheel to install later, but first I would like to try and eclipse the fastest Sy/Ty with stock turbo et of 11.48.:D

No. stock 4.3 crank turned .010/.010. The crank out of the sy block from Daron was cracked to hell.

Re: Starting My engine build!

Did you have any clearance issues between the eagle rods and block/cam? I didn't but I have heard some did. Did or does your engine guy run a super stock drag car?

Clearances was on the edge .060 or so . Proabale could have left the block alone but went ahead and clearance it for the rods. No issue with the camshaft and rod clearance.

Yes my machinist is Jeff Taylor and yes he is a past 4 time world champion Super Stock racer. BTW I am doing the assembly on my engine.

Re: Starting My engine build!

Thanks for the pics. You beat the $#*! out of that pan! Shouldn't be any clearance issues there! Venting some frustrations?
No Glyptol in the lifter valley took you for an old school'r?
That block needs some color.

Keep the pics coming...motivation for me to go do something on mine.

Re: Starting My engine build!

yea...what's the status?

It is done and running, but has a severe oil leak from around the oil pan. Just have not had the time to drop front dif and pull pan off to replace gasket. Hope to mess with it here in the next month.

Update: 6-5-2011

Got the front dif removed today and pan off.

Going to put old pan from orignal motor on. Got it cleaned and clearanced today also. Quit working on it today so I can be fresh and thinking clearly when install it. Don't want to have do this again!!
