As most of you know that I have been trying to sell my Typhoon for quite a while.

Couple of problems:
1. Most of the people that call show interest, but never come to look at it (distance), but wanna talk about it. Lots of out of state calls.
2. Its hard to get financing for a 14 year old truck.
3. Not too many people know what they are....from truck trader and non car people.

1- I would come and look at it as I am not too far away, but alas, I have no money with which to buy it... unless you want to buy SoGT #359 and a Yamaha R6 thus allowing me to buy your Ty *wink wink*.

2- Both places I bank with are willing to give me a loan on a vehicle that old (and older too), but they say i have to sell trade the two vehicles what I currently have loans on. That and one (my credit union) wants an appraisal if the vehicle is over 5yrs old. I am liking State farm Bank though. That is who I financed my SoGT through. They will finance up to 125% of the value of the vehicle. Yes, I said 125% of the value.

3- I know what they are, just couldn't lay my hands on one when I had the money to do so.

Scammer thing - I would not have trusted them even before someone said it was a scam.

Everytime I list a car in autotrader I get that call. Never taken it. Just sounds to fishy.

I got that call when I put my black Ty up for sale. I listened until the girl on the other end of the phone said "We picked your ad to call on because your vehicle is a particularly hot seller in your area."
I knew something was up at that point and said Thank you, drive through.

Let's see now......you're actually considering giving your credit card # to a solicitor!!!???
This guy has nothing but an OUT OF COUNTRY phone # and you think there's a chance he might be legit!!??
Would you consider doing that in any _other_ situation??!!
The identity thieves would _love_ to get your #......

Yea i get the same thing since my truck has been on ebay two times in the past month...I get calls and emails for similar services. SCAMERS!!!!... I would never give CC info to a stranger who called my house...
First off im wondering how they get my phone number, being its unlisted....

Most Credit Unions will finance any vehicle as long as it is worth it. I am still interested in you Ty, the only problems are I have found a Sy on the board only 60 miles away and awaiting to see the truck and I still need to sell the Blazer. I checked with the local credit union on how much I could finance a nice clean low milage ty for and they told be probably up to $16-17,000. People who say they can't get financing either don't know where to go or have bad credit.

I got that call one day at work and knew I didn't want to use it. I decided to let the guy talk and talk for about 30 min ( I was bored). Then I said no thanks and hung up. The only problem was he kept calling me back. When I finally answered I told him that I already sold it.

For financing why dont you suggest Capital One? They have an auto finance deal I used and it was so easy to do. I applied online. You must designate if you are buying private owner or from a dealer, but you can change it later. I gave the basic info, and told them what I wanted to spend. In about an hour I had an email saying I was approved, and to call them to activate my loan. I called to ask some more questions and I was told all the answers were in "the packet" which they were sending out. In three days I had a blank check that I could make out to almost anyone to buy whatever I wanted at about 8% interest for up to 72 months. The check minimum was $7500, and my max was $14000- which is what I requested.

I found a truck for sale, flew out and bought it with the check. There is some paperwork that must be done before the check can be cashed but its all easily done in less than an hour if youve got a notary and a fax machine.

I would recommend it highly. No questions about what I was buying, and I got a decent rate on an older vehicle.

Same here guys, no questions about the vehicle, and also there is no fee for paying the loan off early, I would highly recommend capital one auto finance to anyone on here that wants to by a syty but doesn't have cash laying around to get, also the interest rate was 8.9% over 5 years which isn't bad for a used vehicle.

And btw, they will keep calling until you tell them "it was sold." Been there, done that. :roll:
