Those look like something every SY/TY should have came equipped from from the factory to aid the owner in troubleshooting.

BTW, do you know the differance between OBD1 and OBD2?

2 bar map, would be an educated guess. Somthing that should have been checked first. Anyone that has handled a two bar and three bar chip can tell by looking at the two which one is which. Adding insult to injury using that chip.

Friend claimed it was a 3 bar, i trusted him. I finally looked for a PN on the MAP, and go figure, no PN and all that was on it was "made in hong kong" :tup:

now you got me all excited! Yes, the TPS and MAP is where im still currently at. I have a GM 3bar coming in for my Turbo ls1 setup, so i will use that to troubleshoot this syclone. Hopefully il have an answer for all you guys within 2 weeks or less.

yah and it isnt good, i got the new 3BAR MAP and its the same damn thing.

heres whats weird, the OEM boost gauge is reading 15psi when i barely hit the throttle and the autometer boost gauge shows that its still in vacuum. My wideband is reading 10.00 and off the board richer. For some reason the computer thinks its at WOT while at 10% or less throttle and clearly is giving the truck fuel as if it is...

TPS is my final guess. IF anyone has thoughts or suggestions, please speak them!

soo that was my pissed off drunk rant in the previous post, Why was i drunk? because i figured out the godamn problem that was soo simple and yet all wrong at the same time.

For some reason, after a certain period in time, GM started producing their MAP sensors with reverse polarity. Which of course when these newer MAP sensors are plugged into the older phoons and clones, its going to cause problems. What problems? re-read this thread. It totally makes sense that while in vacuum, the OEM boost gauge shows 15psi. The simple fix is to swap the +12 and -12v wiring on the sensor plug. Which i did this and go figure, the OEM boost gauge was reading vacuum like it should at idle and actually corresponded with the autometer boost gauge. The wideband was showing proper AFR's per RPM/throttle %, the truck revved like it should, it idled correctly, and everything worked like it should. soo now i have to put new plugs in, fresh oil, fresh oil filter, and then refire and shoot timing again since the cylinders have been washed by fuel for the last hella amount of days.

I hope everyone on this forum can use this thread as a learning experience.

So if you tried a second 3bar and it did not work -was it the EXACT same part number as the other one -being they both did not work?

If they were both different part numbers -perhaps you have a wiring issue? -meaning previous owner(s) f'd something up. :squint:
