hey guys,

correct me if im wrong here...from what i can tell, all one needs is :

1. pocket romUlator
2. pocket programmer
3. 4 chip UV eraser
4. tunercat software
5. alot of reading and understanding how it works

in order to attempt to tune his/her truck and make the thing run correctly ?

if so, then i'm gonna try it...

Are you going to run a 2bar or 3bar setup?

wouldnt 3bar be more practical? i plan on running around the 18psi range and would like to have control of fueling there...

You won't need the UV eraser if you buy some electronically erasable proms like AT29c256. You will also need something like datamaster, turbo link, or freescan to scan your vehicle and see where it is running.

i have and use datamaster, and plan on ordering the new tlink (have the old v2.13 buick one) that supports the syty's...i'll look for the proms you mentioned and get to ordering...this should be interesting...

thanks,

Yes the 3 bar is the way to go. You may need an adaptor if you do not have one. You can get them at http://www.moates.net/ you will need the G1 or the G3 if you want the programs to be switchable. If you need a bin to get started let me know. BTW you will love turbolink.

Hi, I am having some problems getting my truck to rum with the Romulator. I am using a 16k bin. The red light on the Romulator is coming on. Then i did the steps Buster said to do in his post.

1. Plug in and turn key foward.
2. Set com port until the message "looking for pocket rom" goes away.
3. Click on the "pull hard button" should read "pull soft"
4. Set Eprom size to match bin, 27128 for 16 bit, and 27256 for 32 bit.
5. Then load buffer
6. Send buffer to Rom
7. Verify Buffer
8. Let her Buck.

Everything looks to be right. At first truck would start and then die. Now I cant even get it to start. Anything I can check?

Call me maybe I can help you out. 336-377-2433 Do you have the stock chip on the adapter with the chip to the left? Is the ribbon wire that connects the romulator to the adapter coming out 180 deg from the stock chip (out the side of ECU)? Is the adpater seated properly in the ECU?

I just looked at mine and the red wire on the ribbon goes to the left on the adapter, sorry. Old age strikes again.
