Re: Opinion on milling intake please

I voted for just throwing it on but if you're determined to mill it then I would support just milling it flat.

Aside from the debate of whether it really is a Syclone with an LS in it, I'm not a fan of having Syclone/Typhoon engraved, painted, etched, milled and stamped everywhere. I find it a bit gaudy. Rear diff covers, throttle body plates, tie bars, engine tie down straps etc. to name but a few.

It would be an interesting novelty item but I'm in the "less is more" camp. I would mill it flat and if you have to Syclonify it, get a stick on plate that you can remove. If you ever want to change the intake and sell it then your market is limited to the people with whatever you engrave on it.

Whatever route you decide, nice job squeezing that motor in there!

I'm with you on it being gaudy, but I like the idea of it looking like the old stock intake and I don't have any extra Syclone names anywhere else.

Probably the best idea yet :rotf:

I always try to downplay engine size etc.

How bout Syclone w/a 4.8 liter;), or something like that.?

Re: Opinion on milling intake please

How about if you mill off the Edelbrock and the lines and put,

Syclone
then 6.0 Turbo under it?

5.3, 6.0 or whatever size the motor is. You get my drift, make the writing look just like the stock Sy/Ty upper.

Nick

I agree. This is what I would do as well. Make it like stock intake.

While that would probably look cool, I don't want to have to change the plate if I ever changed my displacement again.
