so the typhoon I just bought was owned by a former member here (aaron97) well by searcing the old posts it has a build trans RPM converter and some other good stuff done :tup:

Told ya it was a good deal :tup: I would have swooped it up, but it wasn't feasible right now. Now get it running right. Shouldn't be too hard, seemed like minor stuff when I drove it.

It does have a professionally built stage 2 trany. Its the original, I just had it redone by a local stop that specializes in full-out drag cars. Once it was don't it shifted to hard for a DD so I stopped driving it so much. It does not have the RPM converter in it, thats just a stocker. The RPM was crap and its what killed the trany in the first place, which is why I had to rebuild it. I also put new shock on it, a new fuel pump, O2 sensor and new Cap&Rotor, I had an MSD 6a on it but it kept burning up the rotor every 1000 miles. I also put new plugs and wires, fuel filter. I did lots of little stuff to it. But it needed a new turbo when I sold it, it had some serious shaft play and a couple of the blades on the compressor wheel were chipped. ANd it did just start running like crap, I was thinking the MAP sensor or a wiring issue. I was the one that tinted the windows and changed the headlights. It had the original stereo in it when I sold it.
I was wondering what ever happened to it, glad it ended up going to someone that will take care of it and fix it back up. I bought C5 brakes for the front and some 18" ZR1 wheels for it but never got around to installing them. The white paint was in great shape after i buffed it back out and it just needed a few peices of cladding repaired and then repainted.

who ever bought it from use changed the plugs and wires and turbo. the plugs were wrong (fixed) and it has 7mm auto zone cheapie wires (on the way here ) there are some " wiring issues" that are being addressed today (lots of broken connectors")

It ran like complete poo when I got it but that was due to a old alarm in the drivers kick panel shorted out and back feeding into the system causing mose of the sensors to be at 12v and that made the computer doo wacky stuff

Hopefully you arent the one who broke every connector under the hood, because Ive spent 6 hours replacing the conectors under the hood. But its running much better , actually I drove it to work today

yep he broke them all, but I got lucky the salvage yard has a 350 TPI firechicken in there so I grabbed all the conectors the only one I need is for the Map, GM part number 12085502, should have it running 100% this weekend

I bought a kit that includes all of the connectors inside/outside, plastic, etc.. and a tool to crimp them.. wasn't expensive either.. so far i've used it in a few places on the ty and plan on using them on the sy as well. :tup:

I have the crimper, but for 2.00 for all the conectors I couldnt complain, plus i needed all the interior screws, and new valve covers

I have a set of stock valve covers and the ones off of my sy.. which aren't in the best of shape.. I have an aluminum set for myself.. want em?
