First half-throttle stumbling, now WOT stumbling

Yeah we got the ol shizzbang fixed. It's running pretty damn smooth now.

What was (were) the problem(s)?

The problem was that we created another problem by trying to fix the original one.

The original problem was the T.P.S. had two dead spots in it. That was what was creating the stumbling at half throttle. (thanks to myclone for suggesting to check that)

So we replaced that, but right beforehand we had replaced the entire ignition and wires. So after fixing the TPS the half throttle stumbling was gone, but now it was stumbling at WOT. We checked for arching again in the wires and saw nothing, we ohmed the wires and they looked fine. Finally we decided to just order the original AC Delco wires made for the Sy/Tys from the factory.

We took out the ATRs and put in the Delcos and now the truck runs perfectly.

So the guys who said it was probably wires or ignition - you were "half" right. The major problem was the TPS. The other problem was the ATR wires - I won't make the mistake of buying those ever again.

Anyway, I didn't go off thinking I knew it all and tried to do things my own way - I took all of your advice and tried everything you suggested - so thanks for helping me out guys. I appreciate it.

A general rule of thumb I've always found to be true is the cheaper the plug wires, the better they work. I've had 2 different sets of bid dollar plug wires on my truck and they never seemed to work good. Dig told me to try the $14.95 cheapest crap I can get and they work sweet, better than ANYTHING else I've had. And they've been on my truck ever since, 2.5 years and still kickin'. Best $14.95 I ever spent.
