Re: Body shop questions?
Ask the shop what their guarantee is. A high quality shop that uses the best materials will have a lifetime guarantee. Are you painting the bumper body color or the original cladding black? Ask the shop what they will do to match the color either way. Will they use an adhesion promoter on the cover. How well will they sand the bumper cover prior to any application of paint material. (It needs to be fully sanded with no shiny spots or existing "color" showing thru.
As far as chassis measurements. A shop with a good frame machine will have a book of specs for the frame. A shop with a Genesis system will be able to give you a printout of before and after measurements. Do you think the front end was previously hit? They should measure frame rail height and length. This will tell you many things such as mash, sway, diamond. A rail could be kicked up or pushed down, swayed or pushed back. Any of these will cause mis-alignment of the front sheetmetal. If the truck has aftermarket fenders, they are known for poor fitment. The mount holes may need to be elongated to be able to move the fender enough for proper alignment.
If they do need to pull the frame, get a front end alignment after they are done.
