Bin Request

OK, so I've finally gotten off my ass and accumulated enough equipment to be dangerous (see below), just need a starting point. Can anyone help me out with a 3 bar bin (otherwise stock)?

I have Dig's WB patch ready for the next step, and the injectors will be down the road a bit, just trying to ease into this and soak up as much as I can along the way (while doing it myself).

Possible DAQ, as much as I've read lately I may be missing the forest for the trees, but is it a huge difference in the file? (2 vs 3 bar bin) Other sites point here, and make reference to BG regarding 3 bar $58 development, but there doesn't seem to be a short answer. Not trying to oversimplify things, but the way the big brains are throwing around free info (code 59, Dig's free patches...), part of me figured moding a bin for 3 bar would be a DIY kinda thing by now.

TIA for any assistance,

JT

Re: Bin Request

No, its not a DIY thing. There are alot of fields that must be readjusted for a different output voltage from the MAP vs any given engine load.

If youve got the Ostrich and WB then just ask for $59. Its already 3-bar, and there are already some starter bins for bigger injectors.

Understood, I was just suprised at the lack of information out there, no biggie.

I was debating that, but figured I'd get my feet wet (Ostrich, WB, & 3 bar) the "old" way, then transition into $59 and injectors when it's openly released. Guess I'm off to the other thread...

thanks

Re: Bin Request

I'm going to at least get started in $58, so the original question stands.
Anyone willing to share a stock + 3 bar bin?

TIA guys.

Re: Bin Request

If Jeff still has the file he burnt my chip with that I used for awhile that'd be perfect. I loved that chip. I can scan it and send a bin to you...
I've not used that part of the Autoprom but I need to do it anyway for a local guy.

JS Manuf. burnt me my starter chip... Now I've got all the stuff I need and 59.

If Jeff can't get it I'll try and read the chip I got from him and send it to you.

I would also be very thankful for a stock 3-bar bin. That would give me a good base to start with my green tuning thumbs.

Re: Bin Request

The 65lb/hr injectors should be there when I get home... In the next few days I'll load up that flash and burn program and attempt to read the chip Jeff from JS sent me.
Once I have that info I'd be glad to send it to you guys..
Here's how it was setup in Heather's truck:
3bar map
no mph limit
no boost cut
EGR code disable
Stock injectors
stock engine
I'll let you know when Iv'e got that info pulled off the chip.

That would be awesome, guess these are not so easy to come by 'cause it's never been public domained?

Edit: After rereading my last question, is it cool for us to be passing these around? or is there a "right" way to get one? Not trying to step on any toes.

Re: Bin Request

I wonder why we don't have a BIN / ALDL / TUNE post area here on our site? Sounds like a good idea to me....

x2, but I'm not sure it'd be worth it at this point, with $59 being where it is.

Far as $59 goes? True, not much out for it yet but you gotta start somewhere and it does sound like there are at least several stock 2 / 3 bar bins and a couple of 50# bins out already. Many will never change to it anyway and or have been put off by the long drawn out wait or this limited availibility thing or what ever it is they have decided to do for what ever reason?

At least somthing to just get started with and more is sure to follow but there is a lot of $58 info that could be had along with the related ALDL, Tunerpro / Datamaster / logging and WB02 patches etc. I hate having to jump all over the place to attempt to find stuff and code $58 has been out since 90-91? I know that no DB is 100% complete but it just seems strange the SyTy site for SyTyer's has nothing in the way of a dedicated area for something 99.9% of us all need or want but have questions or out problems with??? Just my :2cents:

Re: Bin Request

There is a rather extensive bin library available at Moates.net.

There are $58 stock bins as well as just about every other one imaginable, but I didnt see any modified $58 bins. There are sections for stock and modified bins. Anyone is free to upload them there as far as I know.

Re: Bin Request

Yea I'm a Moates Member but you hit it on the head, no modded bins? I don't think most of us are looking for stock bins and if so, those are easy to find. It's the modded and "starter" bins that every one keeps locked away like Ft. Knox and I hate to say it but these trucks have been out of the main stream for years now. It's not like it's still a hot, hot after market mover?

I agree wholeheartedly man, not trying to down the idea, just saying that if it hasnt happened in the last 10-15 years, it's even less likely now that (a lot of) interest is shifting to $59. I wasn't even thinking on as grand a scale as you (but like the idea). I'm still amazed that there don't seem to be ANY non stock bins posted anywhere.

Re: Bin Request

I think it has something to do with most of the modded bins being based on vendor supported work. IE...the ultimate, 10n1, etc... With the tools we have at our disposal today, we can take a Moates BURN1 and read almost any aftermarket chip. There's alot of new people on this forum that don't know the history (me included) of these modded chips. Someone or group of people have devoted A LOT of time to figuring this stuff out.

Now with the release of code59, that's all changing. Modded bins HAVE TO be shared on request.
