I think Wheels was concerned about your cladiding, not the clip! Mine is brittle from the years in Saudi so yours must be ready to crumble :(

Why not use the 4L60E that came with the engine? I know you need a controller to use it but why not. Good luck. I was wondering why everything was cover in dusty sand...now I know.

Update!

Update!

i was busy for these couple of days so i couldnt do any work on the car ..
anyways..


i changed my mind again and installed back the th700r4 with transfer case..
the 4l60e seemed alot more complicated because i had to do allot of modding like the trans mounts driveshaft and also remember that this is a budget build
and the exaust system also has to be made while the transfer case is mounted
my brother and my cousin helped me alot which made the process alot faster ..
the end result is we have mounted the engine with the trans on the car and everything fits good its ready for the next steps to come

this seems to be a problem when designing the exaust system

anyways i was looking for header ideas and i found this header thats custom made for ls1 s10's and seems like a good deal ... but did not mention if it was 4wd system compatible because my brother mentioned that there was a difference between headers for a 4wd system and a 2wd one but he was not specific so... do you guys have any idea about this?? is there really a difference in headers for a 2wd and a 4wd???

Those headers will not work in a awd chassis. They will dump where the front diff is.

Why not get the right oil pan for the LS1 now and put it in once with AWD system in tact. Seems like a lot less work to me.

Also didn't I read somewhere about the front hubs not having enough support if the half shafts are removed from them? Cool project and I wish you luck but you should take the extra time to do it AWD right from the start if you plan on going AWD with the truck. Might be a little more money initially but you're going to have to do it anyway, plus all the extra time involved if you don't do it now. :2cents:

I was going to buy one just like that here in cali. just like that one. same wheels and everything. I regret not buy that one. I wish oz still made those wheels. I'll take them in 18's if so ;)

Assalamalaikum Aq, glad to see you bringing the the ty back to life. http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=73851 This was my old truck. If you look at the 6th pic down you will see that I used the 98 ls1 exhaust manifolds, they are steel and are better for weilding. They will fit if you are not installing the front diff. In this pic you will also notice that I moved the steering column and shaft over about a 1/4 to1/2 inch. Then used a jeep steering shaft (I think that was a Jeep shaft). You dont always have to move the steering column, but if you need more room. it can be done. Also you can use the wiring harness,fuse box and computer from the ls1 to control the 4l60e if you decide to. Hope that helps... Assalamalaikum Bro

sorry for not updating much guys i have been very busy and im waiting for the headers from s10v8.com that are for ls1 s10 2wd swaps i plan of modifying it so i could fit the front driveshaft if not possible then i have to choices either scap the 4wd and leave it as a 2wd (so much for a typhoon) or i could just do a turbo setup which will probably take a hell alot of time ..well those are my choices if you guys have any other advice i would really be thankful .

I once used a set of long tubes on my 94 S10 V6, they dumped right where the front driveshaft was. I was able to make my ypipe work around the front shaft.

With my new larger front diff I used a set of JBA 2wd headers and was able to do the same thing. If you're using shorties it's possible. Mine was lifted so I had slightly more room than in stock configuration.

my brother ordered the headers from s10v8.com already and it seems like the project is going to come alive again... my cousin finally found a 2 door blazer :cheers: that im gonna take alot of parts from, some parts to list are rear driveline, fuel lines and brake lines and probably alot of other crap that i will discover in the future,

i will try to keep it as updated as i can..:bs:

Very tight fit and good plug access.
Includes all hardware necessary for installation.
Fits 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 Vortec engines
and LS1, LS6, LS2, LS7
1-5/8" Primary Tubes
3/8" Flanges
18 Gauge Tubing
2 1/2" Collector (collector already fitted for 02 sensor)

if i would run a power adder setup .. i plan on installing a full denali 2006 and under powertrain "engine"transmition"transfercase" and running a twin turbo..it would be cheaper considering the power output and it be easier so i could fabricate headers that fits the awd setup.
