Ha there is nothing wrong with mine. I drive it whenever i head into town (at the Academy :() Do you still have the 4.3L in yours. I love mine but i'm pretty excited to do the LS swap, but that will probably be in about a year or so. I'm excited for nats though. Hopefully i can see all you guys and learn alot of stuff.

Why don't you bring your truck over and check it out? You are like 20 minutes form me. We live about 5 minutes east of the garden of the gods exit at I-25.

yes, i have a stock case in my sy, other that the 32 spline input shaft for the 4l80e

If you need a case, I have one assembled and I could bring it up to NATS. Build looks sweet btw, can't wait to see it in person.

I have a ty case but the adapter and input shaft is just too much for us to put into it. I picked up our new front shaft the other day and I cant foresee any problems running this t-case.

thanks for the complement. Are you going to be running one of yours down the track?

I seriously doubt it. To tell you the truth, we'll be lucky to even attend for a day. I run my own business and I have been absolutely slammed this summer. The problem isn't volume of business by a long shot, the problem is that I am owed 40k and rising and it will likely be the end of August before I get half of it and it has been owed to me from April, May and June. Its f'in bullshit but right now that is the issue. With some help I could have my truck done in a few days but the situation I am in makes not even want to look at it.

Sorry for the hijack.

Yeah that would be sweet. You can pm me your address and i'll try and see when i could come by on the weekends. Just like you, i probably will only be able to make one day for nats but hopefully i'll be able to see you there too.

Re: 5.3/4L80E Single Turbo Typhoon Build

I have a question. Some people were talkin about some problems with the getting the gauges to work correctly. I know its probably mostly in making sure your harness wires are in order, but could it be another route (maybe easier) to buy a gauge cluster out of like an 01' GM truck (or whatever LS vehicle) and use that. yeah that would be some cutting to the dash but is there any body harness that would have to be used? i didn't know if there would be any red flags thrown right away from that idea. Thanks ya'll. :)

We actually have a C5 corvette cluster we bought to try and put in. It's not that hard to hookup all the gauges. Most of that info is in my LSx swap sticky.

I loved this build! I have a question that I don't know if much was said about it, but do you have any pic's of the QA1's mounts, or a part number by chance? I'm building a n/a 6.0L AWD blazer and would be excited if I could remove the torsion bars altogether.

The coilovers utilize all stock mounting points. I don't know what the part numbers are for the shocks as they were on the Ty when we bought it.

I'm just so amazed the headers haven't exploded yet after all the racing and miles we've put on it they surely should have came apart by now.......(sarcasm off)

Just a testament to the build quality and the builders! You know If you could replicate the turbo piping and intake piping You could probably sell a kit for the guy who doesn't have fabrication skills, but can do upgrades with bolt on kits.....you might have a market there to start pumping them out for money instead of pleasure. allowing you to have more pleasure at refining and testing new ideas. Just a thought.

That would be cool but I have no interest in making mechanics a job of any sort. Working on my vehicles and with friends on their projects is all I need. Too easy to get burned out on this stuff

Re: 5.3/4L80E Single Turbo Typhoon Build

I hear you there, but you could potentially revolutionize the V8 S10 market. That's POWERFUL! Besides that, it would give you the monetary flexibility to have the resources to hang with your buddys and innovate, to come up with ideas to launch new products too, not only the V8 street guys, but also the back woods 4x4 enthusiasts. Keep in mind a Sy/Ty IS a 4 wheel drive. I think about it all the time, with my fab skills and the ability to put ideas into practice, that there's a need for these niche products for their projects, enough need to start my own niche in the market place. I'm gonna fab up my own LSx 4x4 oil pans, and try to sell them in a market that has NO affordable options. If I have to spend countless hours to start turning a buck and be successful at it, I'm gonna try. Also on the table are LSx headers and motor mounts, which I'll sell for way less than the few that are out there now. If people can get a good quality part for less than the competition, and that part is better than theirs, I think it's a no brainer that they would buy mine over theirs. I could build a business off of that model, and carry that into developing swap parts for other conversions. Multi-million dollar companies start this way. I just can't see not getting into it and letting it pass by.

Re: 5.3/4L80E Single Turbo Typhoon Build

Looking at the drivers side header, where are you planning to run the steering shaft? Thanks for the thread....and some updateds too, as it looks like I almost forgot about this build. Man that thing is clean...like Jimmy said on page 1. I really need to spend less time in this project sections....'cause everytime I look here...it's another LS swap...just when I've accumulated (sp?) most all the parts I need for my 4.3 build w/a PTE67 DBB. Just when I thought 750 HP (flywheel) would do....HMMM.

Mutant-x please dont turn my build thread into a sales pitch. There are sections of this forum that are appropriate for that.
