I guess me and my 4 trucks wont make this one either,at 65 yrs old I'm not up for any cross country trips,So go ahead and have it centrally located and get the same folks you always do.

Would VA be too far of a drive for you? Didn't wanna let the cat outta the bag but would like to see you make the meet.

....going to Nats without a truck is like going to the Prom without a date and having a better time because you're getting a handjob behind the bleachers from a chick who also went solo and you're not tied to a boat-anchor of a girl who you're constantly worrying about her getting hit on and in the end, she still ain't putting out.
Fixed it for you.

This alone should be considered by the organizers. I would do whatever it took to help this guy out with the location. :2cents:

My Dad has health problems too so I for one understand completely.

We could always coordinate a Nats 13 alternative (so to speak) and provide members a choice. Would just need some guys close to York, PA to find a motel. This should not be hard. Maybe a Friday/Saturday event (arrival Thurs evening) with Friday spent at Hershey Park, races Friday night, show and shine Sat morning followed with a nice lunch (closing ceremony) and then we jet. Just a thought.....doesn't have to be high cost to be enjoyable.

Back on topic lest I get banned.

:rotf: nicely done. But I still don't see it that way. Let me expound:

"Going to Nats without a truck is like going to the Prom without a date and watching everyone else get it one with their hot dates as you stand in the corner, and no matter how you brag about your hot girlfriend back home, no one really cares because they are too busy geting it on...and you're just a creepy voyeur."

I really need to plan ahead this year. Is there any concrete date or location yet? Thanks

Re: '13 Nats

Yes. That's part of the delay - getting confirmation from the track.

With as few trucks that actually race anymore during Nats events, is this really required? In other words, renting a track is almost a mute point and a waste of funding. Those that wanna run the track could just pay the $15-20, go through tech inspection and have at it. The rest could be in the stands cheering them on. It is kinda cool to see SyTy's run up against other vehicles at track events and it helps to increase awareness of our trucks. Of course, those that want race each other could pre-stage accordingly.

Just a thought.

It's worth considering....definitely something you should bring up to the "powers that be". AutoX has been far more successful for Shindig and I suspect a similar trend could develop Nationally. The "nice" thing about track rental for NATS is that is guarantees a place/day/time to race for those wanting to. Not securing a track leaves a lot of unknowns (is the track running tonight, what time are they running, how crowded is it gonna be, will we be allowed to run classes and certain trucks side-by-side, etc...). It does become more complex logistically and track rental has always been an affordable solution to that problem.

But as they say, "the times, they are a changing."

Re: '13 Nats

I am speaking for myself, but I am looking forward to this when released. For the past 4 years, my truck has not been able to drive, but now it looks like it is going to be complete, and I am looking forward to meeting people who have gave me hints along the way. Sure, I am thinking of myself hoping it will be somewhere a little close to PA, but that is up to the people in charge.
A date would be good so I know if I need to plan to get off of work, or at least make sure my vacation rental at the beach does not get in the way (deposits are due by 2/1)
Anyways, I look forward to meeting everyone who has helped me

Lot of us are not scared to run our trucks at the track. Last Syty nats that was at Bowling Green had 30+ trucks participate in Drag racing and auto cross. Plus some rental cars and other vehicles partcipated. Just can't be scared to back up all your shit talkin on the forum at the track!

+1 vote for a return to Bowling Green here.

Re: '13 Nats

As far west as it was last year i was really hoping it to be more around the east this time. I thought that was the plan anyway. Attendance would be better as well.

Re: '13 Nats

it will be in the east, there was never any doubt about that, the format since moving from KC has been East, West, East, West...... last Nats was in CO (thats West for the geographically challenged), so naturally it will now be in the East again. Once the track is set and we send a deposit, then the Nats website and threads on the forum will be updated, registration info will be soon to follow, any racing updates/changes, hotel info, ect.
