Re: WTB: Phoenix Gold Cyclone(s)

:) I have one, but its not FS. Mine was Brand New but it was damaged in shipping, cracked Zoll :(

You can find them on ebay from time to time, their are 2 things to look out for.

1st make sure its package properly when being shipped, the Zoll (Plexiglass Surround) is commonly damaged from improper packaging. The Zoll is discontinued, I got the last one, 3 years ago.

2nd The Cyclone motor gets dirty from dust/dirt and needs to be cleaned from time to time, They will get scratchy when dirty and lose output. PG will clean them for ~$100

wow heres something i havent heard about in a while! I had 2 of these while back and installed 1 of them running off a Soundstream Davinci amp. Man does this sub have some low bass! Only downside was the airspace requirement was huge. Try caraudioforums.com i see them around once in a while.

what kind of music do you listen to? This sub doesnt work to well with snappy bass or quick bass like club music.

They are good for 10-50Hz. They really need a really good midbass and/or a smaller 8 or 10 sub(s) to add impact for higher sub frequencies.

I am very familiar with these...had four in a 'test' enclosure back in the day. Let's just say bondo didnt have a chance in hell!

Keep looking around you will find them. Another forum you can try is elitecaraudioforums.com Both of the forums i mentioned are quite large and i was able to snatch up a pair of velodyne df12sc subs wich are near immposible to find like the cylcone. I have seem the cylcone advertised on both.

Funny, I know this topic is a few months old, but I was looking on the web for any photos (there used to be some but the page is no longer) on teardown of this sub.

What's funny is how many of you have them, and not the truck. I have one as well for a few months now. I'm a huge PG fan alone.
