My wife has a non S/C SS Cobalt. It is an A4 and runs good for a 4 banger. The supercharged cars all have the big ugly ricer wing. The n/a SS has a much better looking rear spoiler IMO.

Anyways, I would guess her car to be high 9's in the 1/8th mile, maybe high 14's in the 1/4. Not a rocketship but a fun little economy car. My idea for her car if I ever get the Blazer done is to turbo the 2.4.

I doubt you could pull those times in an automatic. I've ridden in one, and it wasn't that quick. At first I didn't like the wing on the S/C, but it has grown on me.

I am planning on taking her car to the track on test and tune night sometime soon-maybe this Friday and see. I am pretty good at judging by seat of the pants feel. A friend bought a hemi Charger recently and was going on about how fast it was. I drove it and said it feels like 9.20 or so in the 1/8th. She brought it to the track the next week and it went 9.18.

Anyways, I will post on here what the Cobalt runs as soon as I take it, good or bad just so everybody knows for reference.

Cobalts are SLOWbalts. I beat an ss in my mustang, and it just has a 289, even though it has lots of performance, but my stang isnt supercharded or nothing, and the guy swore i was lying becasue his car was. now i want to go fine one for my syclone to take on.

My friend ran 9.4 (1/8th) in his Cobalt SS bone stock. He waited until after the werid break-in boost limiter was gone and ran it. After soo many miles the boost goes up 2 psi.

Yup, that is a common initial issue.

Well.....I took the "Slowbalt" to the track and I guess I have to admit I was wrong. It was a half second slower than I thought it might be. It went a best of 10.44 at about 69mph. The 60ft was 2.44 with no wheelspin.

This was only the 3rd time I have ever driven this car. I brought it home from the dealer and gave it to her and I haven't seen it since. I had never taken off from a dead stop before last nite and I quickly realized that it has a throttle delay built into the electronic throttle, which is why the 60 fts are so horrible. Once the PCM gives it full throttle it pulls decent. I found that 2000 rpm is all it will let you torque it up to-the puter just levels the throttle off and it would doesnt matter if you hold it on the floor or what-it just sits on 2000 rpm til you release the brake.

Wow, you have got to figure out driving a FWD. I ran 10.15@ 69 in my cavalier. I have also ran several runs under 10.3. That is with 60 less hp. My 60's were in the 2.3 range. I have beaten 2 different cobalts SS S/C at 2 different tracks with the cavalier. Then my friend runs the 9.4 with his twice out of 3 runs. What is with those cars...
