That auction is fawking depressing... I have seen paint that oxidized since the mid 80s. What the F did the guy do? Leave it out in the sun all day? I know it rains more than anything up here... but that's shits unreal.

I have to wonder about that. Take a look at the pics and see that they are still using center bolt valve covers and what appears to be KB headers. I dunno about you, but I doubt Busch Grand National motors ran what appears to be stock heads. Most aluminum heads are perimeter bolt. Then they'd have to modify the lower intake to fit the heads as well. I just don't buy ti.

Stokes preferred L35 heads IIRC

Based on the amount of work required to make those parts (intake/headers/etc) work on a set of Nascar heads, it doesn't surprise me that they aren't aluminum. I'd be suspect of the rest of that motor as well (who knows what else was swapped). I don't think Nascar ran 8.35:1 compression either. I think the description is full of a lot of shit.

He is only referring to the fact that the bowtie blocks Jim used were used by the Busch cars. As far as I know, all of his motors did rough in at 4.9L with a 4.125" bore and stroker crank. Silly is right, all of Jim's motors that I am aware of used L35 heads.
