I have a black Ty that I bought with 56000 miles on it. It needed a little TLC when I first bought it, but it still was a monster on the street. I lost some power somewhere between replacing the fuel pump and changing the sparkplugs. My truck will haul ass up to about 35 miles an hour and then turbo will drop off a little bit and the acceleration will not be as strong. If I stay on it, the boost will go all the way up to about 14 but the acceleration is still not there. The only other change that I noticed is that when the boost comes on, it is alot louder than it used to be. I hear more of a hiss than I did before. I have replaced the fuel pump with a Walbro, fuel filter, air filter with a K&N, the turbo to intercooler piping, the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, distributor, and the O2 sensor. I am getting ready to replace the fuel pressure regulator pretty soon, but I don't want to change it without being a little more sure that it is my problem. My only other guess is the wastegate. I am not to literate on how to check a wastegate for proper operation, but can learn very fast. I have checked the fuel injectors one by one and had them cleaned twice just to be sure. It's driving me nuts. I can't do any modifications till I solve this problem. I would like to begin posting results instead of problems so any ideas are greatly appreciated.
