What's up? New New Jersey member here!

I am originally from Cali. I have been stationed here for 2 years in the AF. I am not new to cars or turbos, but I am new to Typhoons. Do all the work on my cars, I love to tinker around with stuff.

I picked up this clone a couple weeks ago. It has The entire Cylcone drivetrain and engine, except the auto is swapped for a manual (a NV3500 I think). It was a 1987 Blazer. It has Vette wheels, Camaro brakes. Camaro seats, Typhoon glovebox and rear seats. It needs a little bit of work. The intercooler piping looks like it was made with parts from the Garden department at Lowes. It could use some new shocks. And the steering feels very loose, and some minor cosmetic things too...

Where are you located, there are a bunch of guys in or around Jersey. Do you have pics of the air to air setup? I would call this more of a conversion than a clone, but that is just me.

This thing is nice. It needs a foglight valance! Does it have 3" blocks in the rear?

Stop by sometime.

^ Cool. I will do that probably round next month. It's not going to be registered until next month and I have to work on it anyways. Here is what I got so far...

Re: What's up? New New Jersey member here!

I finally got some parts and some time so here is what I did today...

I mounted my new intercooler, adjusted the steering box, installed underdrive pulleys, installed AC delete pulley, new thermostat and water pump, installed electric fan conversion. All I need now is one more silicone piece for the intercooler piping, a smaller surpentine belt and a battery relocation kit and I should be rollin. I put off a lot of the repairs for a few months because I am going in for shoulder surgery soon and I want to drive it before I can't for a while.

^ Thanks man. I do actually have a question...I was wondering if you know of any Dyno tuners around here that know Typhoons and have a AWD dyno?

tune time in toms river is the only "dyno" tuner in the area. bob bigtime or harry anderson are in pa. harry doesnt like to tune on a dyno "street only" and bob uses a 2wd dyno "he did mine". no one will be able to "tune" your ty with out a dfi system. i would wait to eric at turbo tweak is done modifying the chips he is making for syty's. they will be the best out other then code 59 or dfi.

So I found out my fuel pressure regulator is bad. So I bought a stock replacement at auto zone. I also ordered a F41 steering box (2.5 lock to lock), and a new rag joint to replace the demolished one.

I am going to try and get it all in next week so I can have a little fun in it before I have shoulder surgery on the 8th.

Any car shows in Jersey before then?

I have a lower valence for that truck if you ever get up to North Jersey.

And start using the search function- there is already a plethora of info on this site.
