Wonder what the 55 runs, could be a 8 second car these days, you never know what someone might have under there sleeve or hood

I must admit that a 10 sec. sy on the street is a brutal street machine, i have raced low 11 second f-bodys on the street on low boost , not even really abusing the truck that bad and still beat them by 5-8 car lengths.

One guy just had to race me 3 times because he could not except the fact that i could beat him, he tried different nos jets and heated the bottle with a torch, crazy huh?, end result was the same , black truck gets the win.
It is fun to put like 5 car lengths on a car like that before they even get moving.

what does he claim to run?
because over here we have a guy named faraday.
he has a pretty bad z28.
has a 9.50 or faster timeslip, and drives it to school everyday.

he is going with new heads and cam and beefier tranny.
cant wait to see the outcome.

Truckless. For now.
Man, that '55 looks clean. I'd still rather have a '56 or '57 though. What's that TT 440 run? That thing looks clean too.

that's pretty cool. I got it beat though. . . . I get 21mpg highway

Thanks for the link. :)

Al Says Hello from Austin TX.

Al Says Hello from Austin TX.

Al and I have seen this 55 Chevy a few times at the local street meets. Believe the guys name is Greg Wright, but don't quote me.
According to local sources, the car is very quick and probably one of the 3 fastest street cars in Austin, though I don't know any specific track times.

Al has never run him, but he does respect the guy. Knowing Al, he would probably run him just to run him, win or lose. But that of course would be up to Al.

Al's Syclone is down for more turbo work, a recent tuning and tweaking session has had some very interesting results, but I am sworn to secrecy so that is all I can say.

I read this string to Al, he appreciates all the comments, figures you guys will have him running 9 second quarter miles in the next month or so, <grin>.

Al is an old school street and track racer, he never gives away any information he doesn't have too, helps keep the guys guessing and nervous, you just have to be present to be able to "tell the tale". 8)

Maybe I should get the camera going again and just get some more footage of Al one night, I will tell you one thing, "It is never boring".

I will just say this personally, it is common knowledge that Al was turning mid 11s at GB01, several people saw some very consistent runs. Do I personally think Al is quicker than that now? "Yes I do", that is all I will say.

Tell me, tell me, please....you have to know some of the build.
Is it complex or somewhat simple? Way expensive or somewhat reasonable?

Please do, fast trucks are always fun to watch :drinking: :drinking:

This is what Greg Wright had to say on our forums www.ntacracing.com NO TALENT ASS CLOWN racing... (which i invite everyone to join)

"Al's truck is quick, but not quick enough. I'll see if he wants to play though."

I will copy and paste the text from this thread..... 2 great guys with awsome cars....I sure wish I could see them race if it ever takes place...
