What stall speed should I buy?

I am getting my trans rebuilt and am getting a reman converter from transtar. I am picking a heavy duty "brazed" one. My truck is mostly stock. Just an intake, ATR chip, 3 in. exhaust no cat. The ony thing I plan on doing is getting a hood chip. I can get a 1500-1700. A 1800-2000. A 2100-2300, A 2400-2600. Or a 2600-2800. What would be a good choice? Imput is greatly valued.

Re: What stall speed should I buy?

If you do a little research, you find a wide range of stall speeds in use. Stock is ~2100. My new one is 2600-2800 with lock up and drives fine on the road with a relatively mild build. A higher stall speed combats turbo lag. The bigger the turbo, the higher the stall. I haven't thought about going less than 2100, but you might actually get better mileage. That is not normally the goal, though.
Since your truck is not far from stock, why not keep the stock converter?

The trans went out and i think the converter is to blame.

Small turbos use a max of 2600-2800, Large turbo, more rpm on motor use larger stall. :2cents:

Driving around town in start and stop trafic you may notice some milage difference on a lower stall, but in really these are lockup converters so once locked up they are the same.
