93 octane fuel. Stuff you can get easily at any gas station. I dont know what types of fuel you guys have (octane rating wise..) have or can get but alot of us cant get anything over 93 (or even 91 I think) at local gas stations. To step up to race fuel (100+ octane's) we have to be close to a race track or a place that sells race fuel.

Does that help?

ahhh , cool - thx for teaching

sounds like i got no prob here, we get 100 octane on nearly every gas-station (but really expencive : 1 liter is ~ 1,50 U$) *hehe*

Re: what means "pump gas" ???

90 octane here in Clovis. They say that the higher altitude doesn't warrant over 90.

We get 91 up here @5300ft :dunno:

Highest in the Anchorage area is 90. I have several gallons of Xylene stored up for if I ever drive the Typhoon again. And Syntist is right, Europe calculates octane ratings differently. I'm not quite sure what their 100 octane is equivalent to in U.S. terms.

Tim, chevron in Eagle River sells 92 IIRC.
Not since September '04. All the Chevrons switched their premium to 90. And since they were the only ones that carried 92, we became effectively screwed. My Ty still has 92 in the tank from when it broke down by the border. I filled up in Tok, and for some reason they get the good stuff there in the middle of nowhere.

Re: what means "pump gas" ???

theres a sonoco by my house that sells 87, 89, 93, 94, and 100...but the 100 octane is 5.55 a gallon and has its own pump. when my nitrous is on my s10, im gunna fill the tank with that stuff once and see how it feels.

Every station sells at least 91 up here at 5280

The higher the altitude, the thinner the air is, the less 02 per cubic inch, the less knock resistance needed. It makes sense to me :dunno:

...be careful with the 100 octane...usually it is LEADED - bad for O2 sensor!

You can get 100 unleaded down here in South Florida. :)

Many more companies are coming out with much higher unleaded octanes. I've seen 110 unleaded & 2 of my buddies claim that they've been getting 114 unleaded. I have no reason not to believe them, they both run 9 second LS1's.

We are also coming into better days, more & more companies are coming out with lead tolerant O2's. I'm running bosch lead tolerant O2's on my LS1 & I will swap my Sy's O2 to a Lead tolerant one when it's time to make the swap.

And when they say "low-lead," it still means has lead in it

Re: what means "pump gas" ???

the problem is that in Europe we name the gas with the RON number . In US its (R+M)/2
an easy way to kill a motor
