The cam journals are wider to
accomodate the .120" wider inline 6 bearings should you choose to use them for extended high RPM durability. You can use either stock width bearings or the wider I6 bearings.

Offsetting the lifters can be done two ways. Easiest is to use offset lifters. The other way of doing it is to actually bore the hole for the lifter "off center" of the lifter bore casting. This moves the push rod over to one side to allow large intake ports(notice the intake port in the head is "pinched" where the push rod passes by it?). It also allows the use of the splayed valve head with no worries on the push rod getting in the way.
Wet sump oiling is the stock oiling system(basically). The oil is stored in the pan and the oil pump is driven off the engine internally. A dry sump is diff in the oil pump is external to the engine and is usually driven via a belt off the crank shaft. The oil is stored in a seperate tank instead of in the pan where it gets whipped around by the crank causing drag, foaming, and heating of the oil.
