What engine to use?

I just bought the S10/Sy-clone that was listed on Ebay. It is a Sy motor/drivetrain in basicaly a 86 S10 4x4 body/frame. I also have a 94 L35 motor. Which would be the best engine for a build? Are the cranks and rods any better in the Sy motor? I know the L35 heads are better than the Sy heads but I need to know about the bottom end. Should I start with the newer balance shaft motor are just build the older Sy motor? It will be a mild build nothing super hot. Both motors are running and have around 150k miles on them. I just need to know which block would be the best for a build? Where the sy balance shaft motors?

Your going to want to use the SY botom end, And the L35 heads. for a Better/Stronger Build.

What is the difference between the Sy bottom end and the L35? Also who makes a mild but hotter than stock cam for the Sy motor? Or would I be better going with higher ratio rocker arms? This will be my first V6 buil. I have plenty of experience with the Chevy small block V8 but know nothing about a turbo V6. In fact will be my first turbo build. I've had SCed V8s. I want to be around the 350-400hp mark. What would be my best mods for a streetable engine in that range?
Any books out there, like Turbos for idiots?

Use the L35 rods if they're still in good shape.

What about cranks? So my best bet is to have Sy crank turned and L35 rods reconditioned. (Both motors run fine but both have around 150k miles. Also stick with the factory Sy compression ratio? Or can I play with that a little. Like I said I'm totaly clueless when it comes to turboing an engine. I'm just trying to find out what my best be is being I have 2 motors a Sy and a L35. Any info on aftermarket cams? When I do rebuild the L35 heads I will go with larger vavles.

I wonder how much difference the L35 cam would have over the stock LB4 cam.

I dont know. The L35 cam is a little hotter but would it work well with boost?
I figure someone makes a mild but hotter than stock cam for the Sy motor. I know Comp cams make a few for the 4.3 but which ones work well under boost. I did a search but didnt come up with anything that helped.

412, 415, 422 all have been used with success.

I have a 415 here in truck, and just tuned one with 412 last night.

Which would be best for a "daily" driver. By daily driver I mean weekends to and from cruise ins or so. Just want something hotter than stock but still able to drive everyday if I wanted to.
