Weak spark

Went to the track last night and was having trouble running any boost over 16 pounds (sputtering and spitin' all the way), then I came back to the pits and when I tried to restart it, NO GO. Trouble is a weak spark, we tested it visually at the coil wire and it was only orange in color and fairly weak coming out of the coil. My question is, could the primary or secondary coils gone bad on me or do you guys think that it is a possible "pick-up" problem. Haven't had a chance to Ohm it out yet but I thought that I would get some feedback on this. BTW I'm running an MSD coil and its been on there since I won it at the 00 Nats.

we did get it fired back up and got it home.

Also, for any of you guys with ?s on the PTE setup my times were down by ~4 tenths running only 14-15 pounds of boost (all I could get without missing) and a custom chip that is no where near dialed in yet. Before the PTE I was running 20-22 on the stock turbo. I can't wait to get it dialed in and get the boost up.
TIA

Swap a known good coil in and see what happens, before you start tearing away at the distributor. MSD coils are on my $|-| | t list still.

Speaking of spark, I'm liking those Iridium plugs more now that we put a set in our 50# tester Sy. Need to test 'em more at WOT, but so far it idles good enough that we could stack like 20 glasses of wine on the hood ;) I'll have a real good impression of 'em very soon, when we do some big boost testing this coming week (hopefully).

Thanks Brian, I've got the old stock one laying around somewhere but will probably just go buy a new GM one.
