Water Temp Guage

The water temperature gauge in the Syclone is off a few ticks, and I have a 2 gauge piller pod with only a boost gauge in it. I want to install a water temp gauge for the second space, but I am not sure where to hook up the sending unit. Where does it get its reading from? My friend had an extra hole on his radiator that was made to screw the sending unit in for his water temp gauge but I know the sy doesn't. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance

No I moved it already, (hence the location change).

I am going to delete your OTHER POST in the other forum since that forum will be eliminated.

This is correct forum for your post, however, I'd strongly suggest a change in the title to ask a question please.

you can try putting the sending unit in the cylinder head (hotter reading) or get the thermostat neck with a built in temp probe. hope that helps.

Where can I get the thermostat neck with the built in probe? I would much rather go that way than try and drill the head for a reading.

there should be a 3/8" pipe plug in the head you can tap into. Wouldnt require any drilling. I dont think there is enough room for sender clearance where the turbo h20 feed back is (if you went garret turbo). As for the h20 temp gauge, check in the PAW catalog.

I would much rather just get a new water neck that has the probe built into it... do you know anyone that makes one?

And on what side is that 3/8 pipe plug you are talking about?

Because it reads that the temperature is 120 degrees.... when it has a 160 thermostat and the last datamaster test showed temps of 160-165 :)

I am sure the sending unit is bad or when they put the white face guages in they messed up when they put the needle back on.

Does anyone know if that hole below the water neck would work for the sending unit? I think it is where the EGR valve used to go, there is just a hole with a plug in it. Could I get a fitting to adapt for the sender and put it there?

Got Boost?
Not sure if you ever replaced it, but I replaced my water pump with a new gm unit and it had a pretapped hole that I used for my sending unit. Works great as my gauge is broken as well...

There is a plug in the top of the water pump. I am installing an AM mechanical H2O Temp gauge - much more accurate than electronic - into this hole.
