Want to raise shift points

Anyone know of someone around who is well versed in this? I would prefer to drive up to 150 miles to pay someone who has experience to raise my shift points now that the motor is built and pretty well tuned, I think I need to squeeze another 800 RPM or so out of it to make it go a little better.

I am in Newark, DE

Suggestions?

You will have to buy a governor re-caliberation kit (B&M) or similar then its all trial and error from there on. I have 2 governors and a B&M kit , mines use to shifted at (54-5500).

To raise the shift points , you dont really need the kit. Grind a little off the weight on the governor and it will raise the shift point. Do it a little at a time and testdrive until you get where you want it.

Check out this thread. It has lots of info on various spring & weight combos if/when you get the kit. tnsyty messed with it some, too.

BTW - if you want to buy a 5400 -5500 rpm governor, let me know I have one.

:tup:Something like this was on the boards not too long ago. Just remember, when you raise your WOT shift points by modifying your govenor, you raise ALL (even part throttle) your shift points.

I have agovernor that I bought from Waller awhile ago and a complete B and M recal kit, I even have some extra springs, Including B&M instructions.

$50 shipped , you will be helping me finished my 4l80e swap :).
