Upper heater core hose replacement

the one that goes from the front of the intake manifold TO the heater core, has anyone replaced it? anyone know a GM # or any other part number, NAPA, PepBoys, Autozone, ect.

it NEEDS to be a moulded hose, a normal 3/4 hose wont work, there are far too many bends and it just collapses when you try and I refuse to run it out and over in a loop cause its gonna be right over top of the downpipe, so Im thinking thats not in my best interest.

you can also bent the tubes coming from the heatercore a bit.
i use 3/4 hose for both the lines going to the heatercore

I dont think I would risk bending the tube, but 90* plastic elbows might be an option to fall back on.

I pulled the following number off the hose itself, 052692KVL, not sure what good it is, but its someplace to start.

Well, for anyone thats interested in this, I had "some" luck, but not a ton, here is a picture, then I will explain...

The OEM SyTy hoes wraps back far enough to where it clears the IC brackets, this NAPA hose #11229 does not. As of yesterday it wasnt even in their catalogs, it only showed up in their computer, and of course along with the SyTys, its listed as fitting the S10s, Sonomas, Blazers and Jimmys as well, so obviously its no "special" for us.

For $12.27 that I paid, I think I can make it work, cause youre just not gonna make all those bends with a single 5/8" piece of hose and I would rather not cut and splice everything, but im still thinking about that option.

Anyway, if anyone has any connections with GM, you may want to see if you can dig up a part number specific for this hose, since aftermarket doesnt have a clue as to what fits our trucks.

I will check with my buddies at the dealer I get my stuff from and see if anything comes up.

ok did some checking and
12368235
12368236 25' of 3/4 hose nothing special
12637941 rad line bend to metal pipe.

all discontinued

I will check with vintage parts on monday but I dont think they have it.

Did this work for you? I'm trying to locate this hose and according to the GM part number it's just a straight hose. I think it also needs to be formed somehow. What were your results?

Its been so long I cant honestly remember at the moment, maybe if I go look at it tomorrow it will jog my memory.

One of the hoses is a straight hose, but the other one is molded. I bought the molded one from GM.

Anyone ever get an accurate part number for this hose? I am going to NAPA this week to replace the one that looked like it was gonna burst (and has been cut off using a razor).

You can thank the "search" function for that:tup:

I just want to have the part # ready for the inlet hose (the one that come directly off the intake with the bend in it) when I go to NAPA in case there is a problem--which I am sure there will be.....

I did all the legwork to track this f'n hose down. I ordered it from Vintage Parts (vpartsinc.com), they have like 50 of them left. Fast shipping too. Here's the CORRECT hose number. It fit like a glove.

1 x HOSE HTR INL (15637958) = $53.14

There's something about hose that fit like a glove. ;)
