i more just hate useless/sharp shit hanging off the frame. Would like to just clean everything up to just whats neededoboym said:Are you trying to make more room for coil overs ?
MikeRenz said:oh and btw...I am upgrading to the stock armed coilover setup. I bought the coilovers from TurboTime months ago, and now that i'm actually spinning a wrench or two..am getting around to installing these (amongst the large list of other stuff i need to get done)

nobody has done upper mount reinforcement. I have a prototype gusset set for them.DaveP6999 said:Definitely for the 'rebound' stop. Looks like part of yours has already been cut off. My cars' have a longer tail sticking out. This thing, including the hole, must be for some assembly-line procedure, or fixture during frame welding, or even shipping completed frames to the assembly plants.
On coil-over conversions, do the new units bolt to the existing upper shock mount? Do you have to do any reinforcement to the stock upper mount?
Curious.............

However you don't really HAVE to upgrade to coilovers either, so the whole idea of something being absolutely necessary is kinda moot IMO.
Looks like some good pieces Mike. I'm not sure that you need two though. A single one running parallel along the plane made by coilover shaft will be the strongest, and most likely the only one really necessary. If you really want two, I would suggest splitting each one off of that plane by ~30* or so in each direction. That would provide more than enough added support in there......Of course a new 4130 hoop with nice large flanges to weld to the frame would be totally pimp, cure the tight clearance issues, and be significantly stronger as well.....
What the hell do I know though, I don't even own a truck and doubt I'll ever buy any of your products anyway![]()
