Ok.. well since I told him to keep my email in mind after this unfolded.. he did.. and asked me to host some pictures for him (not in so many words)

Hopefully these help.. incidentally, I did not resize these, they are EXACTLY as they were sent to me.

Where is your original valvebody? Probably in someone elses camaro unless they just installed a shift kit in yours that was actually a downgrade.

My .02 after going through this more than once.

Get all the money back because this place will probably never build anything that will stay together. If they rework it under warranty odds are it will do the same thing again.

I say we put this in the vault and point future people to it.

I guess my cystal ball is running a little slow as I predicted 6 months not 6 days.

Todd told me not to say anything to you, but he was using your crystal ball to see when he'd have his LS1 swap done, and he couldn't see far enough ahead..... so he took a hole saw to it , to look further inside. That might explain its inaccuracy.

I'm sorry, but I figured you needed to know.

so what do you guys think

Yank it out, ship it to Waller, and get ready to spend a few hundred more this time for a trans rebuild. Except, this time, the trans will shift hard, be syty specific, and not break a day later.

my trans guy says the 3 and 4 gear is not shifting because the ball inside the valve body is sticking and he does not know why

Probably because he put it in the wrong place. 87 to 92 had certain locations and 93 had its own locations due to separator plate change. There are some places molded in that are for checkballs but they don't take them. You have to use the separator plate to verify that a checkball needs to be used in a certain location. If he doesn't know this, he's a parts swapper, not a builder. From the pics you showed us, everything looked fine and didn't need replacement. The reverse drum looked overheated but it was hard to tell for sure due to the low res pics.
No way for the checkballs to get stuck unless the separator plate is damaged and it is pretty obvious when they are damaged.
I'd take it somewhere else.

Look man,the guy obviously(and you too apparently)had no clue what he was doing,or the truck would have shifted RIGHT when you picked it up.Why do you think I said it would be breaking shortly?

Like everyone else said.....you don't have a Sy/Ty tranny in your truck anymore. One of the reasons our trucks shift so hard is because of changes in the VB.This clown that's working on yours just assumed that a regular old junkyard 700r4 would stand up in your little V6 Jimmy,so that's what he put in it.I suggest you request a refund, and if any way possible get the trans he took out of your truck back.

Talk to one of the tranny guys on this board and have them build/sell you one.You are NEVER EVER gonna be satisfied with the "rebuild" you are getting now.Trust me.

Just thought I'd let you know that 700r4s can do a forced 4-2 downshift.
You don't have to pull it from OD to 2nd to make it do it. Just under the right conditions it can do it. If you ever do a full throttle and it hesitates a little longer and you get a really hard downshift, pay close attention and see if you get a 2-3 then back to 3-4. I can see it coming. If you bring it back broken again, they are gonna say it was from abuse and try to make you pay for it. In the future, you probably shouldn't do that. It's really hard on the sprag and not a real good thing to do anyway, but shouldn't have broken the drum at the power level your at.

Read the article. It's very informative. Don't buy the product. Just read the article.

So Justin, does this mean you'll make the next meet in two weekends, in Brea? The Marlboro is showing up this time. Good to hear the tranny is well... for now at least.
