Ultimate Chip / wont spool

I'm new to the forum and was hoping someone could help. I just bought a 93 ty and I think I have an Ultimate chip or a 10n1 but I'm not too sure. How can I tell? I have the radar style with SEC, T1 15, ... T3 24 settings. (I also don't have the key to lock the setting. How can I get another key?) As far as my setup is concerned, I have a PTE44 with 50# injectors and the stock converter. I have a 2 bar sensor and I can't spool off the line. Would the 2 bar keep it from doing this? Do I need a 3 bar? Sorry for all the questions but I wasn't sure if I needed to have my chip re-burned or what?

You will need a 3 bar for it to work.

I'll buy one right away. How about the chip type? How can I tell if I have the right one for the 50# ? I had to back the fuel pressure regulator all the way out for it to run halfway decent. After reading a little about the chip, I found out that there are quite a few different versions.

Usually the eprom/chip it self will have a label on it with a description of what program you have. It is inside the ECM under/behind the glove box.

I replaced the 2 bar with a 3 bar and it ran really rich. It ran really erratically at idle and wouldn't spool from a roll. I checked the chip and there was nothing on it. Whatever sticker that was covering it was torn off - matbe to be reprogrammed? Anyway, bottom line is that:

1. I verified that I have 50# delphi injectors, PTE44 and a stock converter.
2. I have the FPR backed completely out for it to run good with a 2 bar MAP making 15psi
3. I can't verify the type of chip I have.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to who can burn a chip that can be used with the Ultimate Chip configuration? Any other suggestions?

What is your fuel pressure set at? Delphi 50# injectors are rated @ 45psi rail pressure so if you've backed your pressure way off the computer will try to over compensate at idle/cruise....sounds crazy, but that was my experience with a similar setup.

I started off with 45psi and worked my way down until it started it running good. It was belching out black smoke until I started leaning it out. Right now its at 20psi static. The guy I bought the Typhoon from bought the Ultimate setup on ebay so who really knows if what I have is as advertised. The truck wasn't running good at all when I got it. It runs good now with all the fuel taken out, but the whole thing about these trucks is in the launch. I had a mostly stock one about ten years ago, and I remember launching that one at about 15#. Anyway, all signs point to me needing a chip burnt for my particular setup. Can someone point me in the right direction as to who can burn my a chip for the Ultimate setup? I want to really launch this thing!

Welcome.
Get a flash chip burner and burn a 50Lb chip so you know what your getting. You can also read your chip with the chip burner.
