Ultimate chip NEWBY questions...

I just purchased a STG Ultimate chip for my sy that is programed for stock injectors, heads, and turbo. My trucks stock with the exception of Walbro 255 fp, AFPR, and ATR cold air kit. I got datamaster on the way also so I can log my truck and make sure all is well b4 the install. Do I also need a wideband to monitor fuel or can I monitor that with Datamaster? Also I know that all the t1 settings are for pump gas and t2 and t3 will require higher octane fuel. Now for the fuel settings how do I know which setting I need and what kinda results am I looking for either from Datamaster or a Wideband???

Re: Ultimate chip NEWBY questions...

Ok the chip only has the timing settings and then the amount of boost for the program u are running... ex. T1 15. How do I know if Im running lean besides the knock count?

The stock injector chips don't have adjustability for fuel settings, and you should probably start out with your base fuel pressure at 50psi.

Wideband 02 isn't *absolutely* necessary, but it sure is a helpful tool. Before these were widely available, people had *some* faith in the stock 02 sensor values, and would read their spark plugs and use EGT readings, as well as watch their knock values from a scan tool.

Re: Ultimate chip NEWBY questions...

K. Thanx for the info. I was searching up some info on these chips and somehow came up with info on a completely different one that had different fuel settings...
