Ty transfer case damaged via shipping by FEdex

Hey Guys:
Need some help. I sent a transfer case via FedEx to New Mexico and prior to arriving at buyer's address Fedex calls him and states it was damaged and coming back to me, the shipper.
It arrives at the wrong State sits a couple days until someone calls me today and says they can't find it.
The declared value on the shipping label was $400.
I was told to file a claim and include the price of the transfer case. Can anyone give me some advice as to where I can get something to give to Fedex stating the price of a transfer case?

Any help would be appreciated.

You shouldn't have to get something to where the t-case is worth $400, if that is the amount you insured the package for that should be all you need. If nothing else, stating that the reciever paid $400 for it....

They want a reciept of what you sold it for, ie they want to see a 400$ bill. I went thru the same crap thru fed ex and used a paypal transaction to show proof that I didnt ship sand to the buyer.

How did you determine a price? Just send them that. You have to have something where you two came to an agreement on price. There was another post on this type of deal. IIRC the guy shipped an empty box. There are scumbags out there that do it. So honest people have to jump through hoops.
