Re: turbo ?

what are you running for fuel injectors? what i mean is ifit has spider injector system, that is what will hold you back the most. there is a way around it. Marine intake manifold. search it.

On another note, if you are stock N/A compression, then you could not use that much turbo. way to big. Buy it if it works with our style downpipes and exhaust manifolds, sell it on here (they go fast in good condition) and buy a used stock turbo in good shape or maybe a 20g at most. you will need a stall for the second one.

I do agree with on this. If he is using a GT35 it would be over kill for 300 hp spider injector limiatation. I notice he is also talking about using manual transmission, If it was GT35R (ball bearing) it would be a lot more streetable than standard journal bearing GT35. Also just because its Gt35 doesn't mean its going to be a bolt on turbo, you will need a correct exhaust housing, wastegate down pipe set up to make it work.

I diasgree with compression being too high. N/A 4.3 are only 9-9.5:1 from the factory, I have PTE6131BB which uses a Gt35 compressor wheel, my truck isn't quite finished (hopefully next weekend) I still think I am going to be about run 18-20 psi with some alky when I am fully tuned in with code $59.

i meant on a stock bottom end. yeah it could be done, but lots of tuning and if he were proficient at that, i dont think he would need to ask these questions. i should have elaborated:oops:

Re: turbo ?

that gt35 wheel is perfect for the street on these motors IMO

i had a pt6152 on a 9.2:1 stock bottom end motor at 25 psi. ran awesome and spooled very fast. i was hitting full boost just over 3k rpm

on another note you'll be hard pressed to get much more than 500hp to the wheels (depending on what the hotside specs are) with that turbo so plan accordingly

btw that pt6152 was journal bearing and my truck was a 5 speed manual

Re: turbo ?

Never been on a dyno and don't care to... I juge my stuff on 1/4mi MPH. ET is dependant on traction/converter. Your MPH is going to be the same regardless of launch.
It's a measure of power.
Dyno's are a joke. Just my openion.

Re: turbo ?

Dyno's are a tool!

You can set the load for a specific rpm on the motor and then advance the spark and the fuel to get the max power out of it for that RPM.

They are consistent and repeatable especially if you use hub dyno's instead. That way you don't spend hours driving up and down the street logging, stopping, trying etc etc.

In an ideal scenario you advance your rpm by each increment in the map table and then adjust spark/fuel to get the best possible power combo.

I think dyno's used properly are an invaluable method.
