Turbo Heat Sheild Removal

I took my turbo out today to refresh the gaskets and the bearings. I can't get the heat sheild out of the turbine houseing to free the wheel. Any suggestions. I assume that it just takes patience because of the age. Thanks in Advance.

Yeah, I tried that, no luck. I also am using a small flat tip and cleaning around the ring with some PB blast. It is just so tight that I can't get anything in to pry at it. I also tried to heat it up a little bit to free it. I also thought to try to put something on the inside, like a wooden dowel or something, between the turbine blades, to try to bang it out gently but I don't want to damage the wheel. It is still in really good shape. That will be my last resort.
