Turbo end play?

I know this has been asked, but I have not found a spec or allowable limit.

I am replacing motor mounts and found that my turbo has .025 of end play. Measured with a dial indicator. Seems like alot to me, but I was unsure weather or not to put it back on.

I just need an answer.
I don't want to spend the cash for a PTE setup right now. I need to tune the truck before I start throwing big parts at it.

How many miles are on the turbo?

I took one off my typhoon, had around 100k on it, still good.

On the other hand.... if you have the turbo off, why not spend a couple hundred to get it rebuilt.... could get the puck enlarged also.

Or even better, have it rebuilt to 20g specs.

I called one shop i found in the archives and they quoeted me $950 for a upgrade.


How much should I expect to pay for a 20G w/ 10 or 12$# exhaust side?
