Turbine Size

I know this has been asked a hundred + times but I have searched and with my bad back I just can't sit here and search any more!!
What turbine A/R are some of you using on your TO4B or E turbos with a P-trim wheel?

there is only one thats set up for a syty application.. PTE .85

guys with headers and or custom downpipes can run .81's or .96s in T4.

Some of the small hybrids run .63 or .82 in T3 inlet.

Mitsubishi comes with 8, but can be upgraded to 10, 12, 14mm.

my buddy who makes kits for 3800 engines uses .69 for quick spool up to 400hp
and .89 for everything over. I will be using the .69 unless my exhaust pressure to boost pressure ratio is greater that 2 : 1

Can anyone explain what these numbers mean? i undertsand its a ratio but of what? and is there anyway to measure this?
(Im not thread jacking im just curious as to what all this means.)

I bought my 2 from ebay doing a general search for turbo..
they come up from time to time
